This is part four of my series featuring Rocky the Weavile! This one is a tad bit sad, but enjoy it anyway! Comments are a love ^^.
For what felt like minutes to the terrified pokemon the two giants stared down at him with smug, hungry grins. Rocky realized much to late how thoughtless his action to expose himself was. Not only was he himself in danger, but his trusted friend Wagner was also revealed to the monstrous predators. Still nudged up against the minotaur's hip was the smeargle, Vergil, who upon recognizing the tiny rebel to be his good friend Rocky, was awestruck with fright. It was clear what the Husky and Bull were thinking about doing with him.
“Weelllll, lookie what we have here, Ace!” the minotaur cockily remarked. “Do my eyes deceive me or is that a bite size lil weavile?”
The giant humanoid husky, who was apparently named Ace, smiled back sadistically. “I think you're right, Strike, that sure is one, and he looks like he'd make a great treat.” The dog still hungrily held the scared zangoose close to his mouth, but at least for the moment, didn't show a lot of interest in gulping him.
The macro minotaur slowly leaned over, both legs crossed, and deeply inhaled all the air around Rocky. For a few seconds the weavile anxiously gripped the grassy ground, not wanting to be sucked into the bovine's nostrils.
“Hmmm, smells pretty good. Ace, I think I should eat this one.” The muscular macro rubbed his hands over his chest and belly, reminding Rocky that there was a zoroark somewhere deep inside him, digesting away.
“Why not, buddy? I had a pretty big lunch anyway. That's the last time I eat an entire village!”
After the jubilant decision of who would eat the terrified pokemon was made Rocky began to silently panic. Where could he go? Nowhere! Any direction he may try to use to escape would only give the nearly naked minotaur pleasure. Maybe if I just give myself up, he won't stomp on me, or chew me, or anything awful!, he thought. He frantically looked in all directions, unable to choose a specific one. Before he could make any simple decision two huge thick fingers grabbed him by the legs and carefully lifted him up. For a while he was swinging and thrashing, shouting commands and insults at the minotaur holding him, but the bovine named Strike had no idea what he was saying. He wouldn't have cared anyway.
The giant bull sniffed Rocky some more and let his wet slobbery tongue slip out of his maw and lather the poor weavile with drool. Not to mention the unpleasantness of Strike's breath. Never before had Rocky been so sure he was about to die. “You're a pretty cute lil weavile.” the minotaur taunted. “To bad you'll soon be a part of my muscles forever.”
From the upside down view that he had Rocky watched the sinister husky pluck Wagner from off the ground. His scared gliscor friend was probably to nervous and uncertain to even move, so he was easily captured. The giant canine named Ace gave the other pokemon a similar treatment as Strike gave him, but in a more dog-like fashion. He was pretty generous with the way he quickly licked all around the bat pokemon, leaving him dripping with salive. “Mmmm, so much yums! But I can't eat you if you haven't been given my special pet treatment!” he cheered arrogantly. Without another happily sadistic word Ace leaned over and stuffed the bat in his right shoe, closing away all possible escape by jamming his foot inside, confining Wagner to squirm under the husky's toes. My gods, I can't believe that's happening to him!, Rocky thought. Little did he know his whole spectrum of luck was about to change.
Since he was being dangled upside down Rocky had a clear view to the opposing side Strike's hip. Right up against his skin was a comparatively large satchel-like bag resting on the ground. Being high up, he could easily peer down and see the contents of the bag. Based on the object's shape and color Rocky deduced one of the items as a mushroom. To his immediate recollection, the weasel could remember the two giants saying that it was specifically this kind of food that gave them their gargantuan size. If I can sneak a bite of that, maybe I'll grow big enough to fight them! It was rather optimistic, but it was worth a try. With as much force as he could bring, the ice type slashed his claws at the muscled minotaur's finger.
“Ow! Why you, bug! I should smash you!”
But it only took one more rapid swish of his claws to cause Rocky to be released from the bull's grip. The pokemon fell head first into the large satchel, right next to the fungus that would hopefully allow him to overpower the two giants. He knew he didn't have a lot of time, especially with the minotaur now enraged, so he quickly took a bite and swallowed. As soon as he food went down his esophagus he felt his body start to tingle. Gods above, please let this make me big!, he silently screamed. The tingling sensation surged through his veins, and the inside of the bag slowly grew smaller. Seconds later his head was sticking out, and the husky and minotaur were looking at him with shock. It's working! It only took another few moments for Rocky to be near the same height as the other two. He assumed he wouldn't be EXACTLY the same height as Strike and Ace, considering that in their normal sizes they were probably still much taller than him, which was the correct judgement. He may still have been a tad smaller than them, but he was now able to put up one heck of a fight. Ace and Strike watched Rocky with contempt as he grinned widely at them, crouched into a secure fighting position. They knew they would actually have to work for their meal again.
The weavile rubbed his claws together cockily preparing to ice the two away.
“This doesn't change anything. We'll still eat you!” Strike shouted, pouding his chest furiously.
“Yeah, and now there's much more meat to go around!” Ace started to drool all over the poor scared zangoose that was still tight in his grip.
The two hungry monsters lunged at him, but Rocky was agile enough to leap out of the way and land on secure ground, his now immense size sending tremors across the forest. He only had a brief moment to rest until the angry bull leaped over to him. The dark type shot a quick shadow ball at Strike's chest, which ended up not doing anything, but slowed the seemingly mythological creature enough for Rocky to make another skillful dodge, landing again away from both of them. Below the three giant trees shook violently, and terrified birds and other creatures fled the area as promptly as possible. Rocky latest landing nearly demolished a tree, but other than that, everything was okay.
I still need to save that zangoose from Ace, Rocky remembered, and get Wagner out of that probably miserable shoe, and get Vergil away from Strike! With this in mind the weasel dove at the anthro husky and swatted at his hand. Luckily Ace's whole arm was vulnerable, and the speed of the sharp claws caused him to drop the bite sized mongoose pokemon by his lap, which Rocky eagerly scooped up to safety. When the weavile felt secure in his location he looked down at the zangoose in his claws. It was small, defenseless, and his eyes were wide in terror, though he knew Rocky was trying to help him. Before the two pokemon could exchange any words both Strike and Ace were rushing over to him. No no, what do I do with him?, Rocky panicked. With his adversaries quickly approaching, only one solution made sense to the ice type. I the spur of the moment, Rocky carefully dropped the hapless zangoose into his own mouth, being careful not to poke him with any of his sharper teeth. Man this is really awkward, Rocky thought as anxiety rose to his head. If I accidentally swallow him I'll never look at myself the same way again!
At seeing the weavile stuff the smaller pokemon in his maw, the two beasts raged away. “You can't eat that!” the husky said. “It's my snack, I bought it for myself!”
The situation really could have been a lot worse. The battle would have been utterly pointless if the two had been wearing their soldier armor from earlier, but now all the minotaur was wearing was a loincloth, which securely held his smeargle friend captive against his flesh, and the husky was only wearing a pair of shorts and a shoe on his right foot, which tightly held his other friend. With most of their bodies exposed, it was much easier to hurt them. But all of it would have made Rocky feel much better if he didn't have another pokemon in his mouth, which didn't taste...bad at all. He mentally kicked himself, refocusing on Strike and Ace coming right at him.
Before he could move or dodge at all the minotaur delivered a powerful punch straight to Rocky's stomach, instantly inhibiting his ability to fight. The worst part was that the zangoose in his mouth was flung back near the entrance to his throat, making Rocky's heart instantly stop. To prevent the poor mongoose from going any farther into him, he forced himself to bend over, inadvertently causing the pokemon to fall straight out of his mouth, which he didn't even realize was open. The weavile instantly feared that falling from that big a height would damage the zangoose, but once he hit the ground he didn't hesitate to scramble away, hoping to flee with his life.
“Mine! I want that thing back!” Ace shouted as he pointed at the mongoose pokemon.
Rocky swiftly lunged to the other pokemon's defense, throwing on ice beam straight at Ace's chest, giving zangoose much needed time to scurry away like a mouse. The icy attack seemed to do a little bit of damage, but the husky clearly had some kind of advanced martial arts training. Before Rocky could blink Ace was right in his face, already recovered from the attack. In one fast motion the skilled husky had his hands around Rocky's neck, as if trying to break it. The weasel didn't know a whole lot about fighting techniques or martial arts, but he assumed that it wasn't hard to snap a neck in a simple movement, which Ace definitely knew how to do. To get the hands and the husky as quickly away from him as possible, he summoned all his strength to lift him up and toss him away. Though only moments later did Rocky realize the error in what he did.
It would have been much better if he had flung the husky towards Strike, but instead he swung him as far behind him as possible: straight in the path by which the zangoose was trying to escape. From the small distance Rocky watched the tiny pokemon sprint away, but the sight ended as Ace landed flat on his rump, a tad bit dazed from the throw. As a wicked grin grew on the dog's face, Rocky realized what he had unintentionally just caused. Oh no! Please tell me he didn't just-. But it was true.
The husky erupted in laughter. “Strike, guess what just happened! I just sat on my zangoose!”. The minotaur as usual didn't show any bit of sympathy, and laughed just as hard as the dog.
“Is it squirming under you?” he slipped between laughs.
“No, not at all. Hehehe I don't think it's exactly getting up again considering how hard I landed on it!”
Rocky was certain that if there was ever a time he was filled with so much guilt and anxiety, it was now. He privately begged for the poor pokemon to still be alive, even after the massive weight landed on him. When Ace got back onto his feet, he saw that the mongoose was lying face down in the dirty ground, his eyes closed and no motion.
The proceeding chuckles from Strike and Ace filled Rocky with so much rage that he wasted to time slashing at the dog's shoed foot. It was immediately torn away, and his gliscor friend was freed from the unpleasant confines. Ace showed obvious anger and disappointment at seeing yet another meal go, but it turned into fright as Rocky continued to furiously slash and shoot ice at both the dog and bull, scaring them so much that they both rushed to the satchel and ate a slightly different kind of mushroom than the one before. It was a little different I color, and both their bodies shrunk slightly after they consumed it. The two malicious soldiers were far form returned to their original sizes, but small enough to get away from the giant Rocky without being spotted so easily among the trees. The weavile was dreadfully scared of accidentally hurting anymore creatures, so he chose not to chase after them, but to quickly put an end to his gargantuan height. He bent over and took a bite of the shrinking mushroom and was sized back to his normal weavile self. When the magic of the mushroom stopped his shrinking, Wagner wasted no time rushing to his friend's side in thanks.
“Gods bless you Rocky! I didn't think I was going to escape that creepy husky. And it was a nightmare under his foot! I'm probably going to smell like dog for weeks!”
“To be fair, you've never smelled particularly good before anyway.” Rocky joked.
The bat snorted. “Let's fix one problem at a time pal, let's see if that zangoose is okay.”
Rocky was stunned silent. One of his worst fears was about to be realized. As the two approached the downed pokemon, they would it to be lifeless, having been crushed under the butt of an anthro husky. Rocky did his best to hold back screaming into the sky, cursing any divine being watching that they didn't do anything about it.
“It's all my fault” he cried. “He could have lived...”
Wagner walked over and hugged his friend. He too was hurt by the unfortunate events. “He was going to die if you didn't do anything to stop them anyway. At least you gave him a chance, that's all that could have been asked for.”
Rocky wiped his eyes. He was never one for powerful emotional outbursts, especially in front of friends, but this was an easy exception. “Maybe this is all for nothing. That minotaur still has our smeargle friend tied at his hip, and the whole thing about a magical evil creature wanting to take over the world is just too much. We're clearly nothing compared to him, maybe we should just give up.”
Wagner didn't respond. He had no idea how to. He couldn't tell Rocky things were going to get better because he feared lying to the weavile in a time of distress, so he gave him the best thing he could, the promise that if they were going to face a billion monsters before they saved the world, Rocky wasn't going to do it alone.
For what felt like minutes to the terrified pokemon the two giants stared down at him with smug, hungry grins. Rocky realized much to late how thoughtless his action to expose himself was.
