That brings tears to our eyes.
You are an impressive artist to capture the 'soul' of Depression so very well. Everything is gray and yet there are some colors, like the few joys in life fading away so slowly yet ever on. Everything is somewhat functional, yet bruised, handicapped, or disabled. The plants are withered and instead of roots cracks grow in the room. Even the glass is definitely half empty. Everything seems undone, and in the back the tasks and to-dos just keep piling up.
There is still so much more to the picture. In a sense, it is alive. Not simply about the looks, but because it captures exactly what it feels like to be living a depressive / depressed live.
Very great artwork. Thanks for sharing.

Great work. I like the little details in this pic.
Like the unwashed dishes in the sink. When you're depressed, a simple task like cleaning the dishes can seem like a damn mountain to climb, and it winds up not done, but just there, staring at you, taunting you, reminding you just how much of a failure you are.
The little tidbit of color in the picture is from what appears to be an attempt by the subject of the picture to do some artwork. The paint is spilled over the paper in what appears to be frustration.
Not even something that once brought you joy makes you feel any better when you're depressed like this. It's still something you enjoy, hence the fact it's still colored in the picture, but it's just not doing it for you, which is frustrating.
The only other (muted) color is from the alcohol. Substance abuse is common among depressed individuals. It can be very tempting to dive into the bottle, or into pills, or whatever, just to help you feel better for a short period of time. It's not a solution though, so the color is muted on the bottle.
Just an amazing piece.
I've been right there in that spot, and empathize so much with this picture. If this is a self-portrait and you need anyone to talk to, even though I'm a stranger, feel free to drop me a note or something.
Depression sucks. But thanks for capturing it so well here, it really is an amazing piece of artwork.
