no-swift has drawn for me lots of times in the past, but this latest one I think may take the cake. It's a tough call.

This scene was mostly inspired by No-swift, who came up with 4 or 5 different thumbnail ideas that were all fantastic, which made it really hard to choose one. I ended up going with this one, but the idea of the shield around the solar system, with the comets from the Oort cloud streaking in as though attacking the Sun ... that was No-swift's doing, I think.

I love the scale of this, and the composition. The light on Rooth is pretty awesome, too!

The question I have about this scene, though, is why the comets and asteroids and whatnot are peeling away from (or through?) the Oort cloud and attacking the Sun? Could it be some alien influence, and Rooth is just using the ginormous approach to solving the problem? Or is Rooth creating his own gravity, which the Solar System is protected against by the shield, but the outer reaches that he can't reach are all like, "Oh, HELLO mass! I love you!!"

Thoughts?
