After several primer coats and some sandpaper work, this Fliskits Goddard L-13 finally gets a color coat of Krylon Chrome to represent "bright silver". Always apply the lightest color first, let dry thoroughly, then mask and apply the next darker paint.
Patience is the key. Apply light mist coats so the paint dries quickly without runs. Metallics can be difficult to work with as they can show ever flaw in the model so good primer coats are very important.
A feature on the L-13 are the guide rails positioned at opposite sides of the rocket. Only one side has rails now--the side with the launch lug. The others will be affixed after final paint is applied. The rails will eventually be painted "steel" to mimic the details on the actual rocket.
