Nina, my Divinity 2 slayer/dragon knight.
This game is amazing. All Larian Studios games have this specific sense of humor I adore. I think the Slayer is my second favourite fully customizable game protagonist… right after Shepard (I still haven’t finished Divinity 2 so I might change my mind and The Slayer might end up on the first place along with Shep). The humor of sarcastic!Slayer is just priceless, I think that’s how purple Hawke should be.

If you haven't played previous Divinity games, you should at least play Divine Divinity first, because Divinity 2 is full of DD references. Divine Divinity is friggin amazing, I laughed a lot during playing it (it's seriously the funniest game I've ever played, and the jokes are always on spot), and it has pretty awesome story too! As for Divinity 2, it's a great continuation and by god, you can be a dragon! What else do you need?
I played Dragon Commander, and seriously, I friggin love it. It's mix of rts and rpg, and it takes place long before Divine Divinity and Divinity: Original Sin. You are the dragon prince and you have to bring order to your father's imperium. I was kinda sceptical towards it because I hate rts (I suck at strategy lol) but it's pretty easy even for idiots like me... but jfc THE CHARACTERS and the story. You are assisted by 4 generals and bunch of ambassadors, each of them have their needs and quests, and they can give you a loooot of laugh. Seriously, Divinity series are my fav game series ever, they are fun, they have fantastic story, good laugh, and you can shape incredibly fun character out of your protagonist. As a series of games they might be my number one :D I strongly reccomend all Divinity games, I played all of them (still havent finished Beyond Divinity and Original Sin) and as I said, they are awesome. They might not have the best graphics, but by god, the story and characters.
Welp! That's all I needed! I have played alot of games, and have always been iffy of the Divinities.
But if you recommend it, and so thoroughly, than I have a whole knew series to explore! Thanks
Drathe. You are dependable. Please keep up the great work. If you can dish out any more Divinity
related stuff or character designs, I eat that shit up. Seriously, your stuff rocks and really galvanizes
my creative thinking.

Tbh I was all like 'meh' over Divinity at first. When I saw the title of the first game looong ago, I was all like ? ? ? 'what a stupid title, and the game ain't looking that good either', and I've never been so wrong in my life. When I decided to give Divine Divinity a try like... 1,5 year ago, I was amazed. It's still like hack'n'slash (old Diablo style), but holy shit, I assure you that you will sink into Rivellon like I did. It's just amazing, and every new game is better than the previous one (unlike the other game series like Dragon Age for example).
I still have my dragon emperor's sketch, need to work on him when I'll have some more free time :D (also, you have one of the best in game romances in Divine Divinity and Dragon Commander!!)

lol glad that is a factor. A long time ago, in a game called Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic 2, the game sucked so much
harder than it's predecessor. One of the factors that stuck out to me was that the creator of the second forgone romance
because he thought it had no place in RPG. It was a little thing, but I thought about it and I thought it couldn't be more wrong.
I think romance, as virtual as it is, immerses you in the world you are playing. Because you already have a say in the
story, but now your character is invested in another. That rarely happens, rarely are there characters that you connect with, but
when done right you really do. You have a say in what your character is thinking, how he or she fights, and when you see them
connect with another character you do too a little, cause now your character has more of a stake in the fight.
I thought the same thing about Divinity, weird title, old school, is it any different from the others? That kind of thing, but if you
like it and seeing as how you have first hand experience, and I trust you. I will try it! Now it sounds really fun! I will give it a try
sometime! Divinity Divinity is only like 6 bucks on steam right now so I will try er out! Thanks again. Man it's really cool to find
a talented artist that likes what you like. I would love to see your Emperor, make it grand, and I will come a flockin'.

Romances in games are cool thing, as you said, it makes you feel that your character has another reason to fight. I remember romances in Planescape Torment, the Fall from Grace... Jfc, never consumed, but incredibly deep story. I loved every bit of it and it still melts my heart. In Neverwinter Night series Gann and Safiya were my favourites, Gann was probably my first male romance I loved, hahah! But, tbh, in Dragon Age games, as cool as they are, I always have headcanons for my characters. The romance options are not for me, haha. (only DA2 romance options are A+ for my character's story). 70% of my characters end up with my friends' characters and the 30% end up with non romancable npcs (like ser Barris, Krem or Anora).
In Divine Divinity there is no "serious" romance, it's more like a parody, but still incredibly fun one, and in Dragon Commander... well, you have arranged marriage and you can choose your own queen that has her quests and stuff. It's amazing and while it's not as grasping as in Dragon Age, it's still very fun to play.
You should, and spread the word! (and make your girl play Original Sin with you, it can be played by the internet and the characters can have actual interactions! I plan on playing it with my friend so we could recreate our otp in it :D)
