This was a HUGE improvement for me. I practically had an eruption of discovery in digital drawing while making this. The orange highlights were actually a complete mistake involving filling the background, but I liked it and can now duplicate it, as seen with the fuchsia highlights.
I still think I'm average, but expect nothing but higher quality work from me for now on!
