Back when I was thinking I could make comics for a living, and before the 80s were back in fashion again (say, 2003 or so), I created this cute series of comics called Kids from the 80s or 8 Bits.
I was so serious about doing this comic that I even created this little Flash-based minisite, that is about 70% operational by now (it all works fairly, except for the contents on a couple of buttons; the big button at the bottom corner is a thingie I put there while I was developing the thing so I didn't see the intro again and again, and wasn't supposed to be there in the final version).
You'll notice the animation is rather small, everything inside the animation is vectored so I could scale it up smoothly.

I'm definitely a child of the era. I played games a LOT. I rolled activision's Laserblast over* 3 times in one sitting, even playing 9 screens in a row with my eyes closed. Gee, I wonder why I dont play that one anymore...
* for you "young punks" out there ;) ;P , Rolling Over means racking up points in the game to the point the counter automatically resets, usually a million points in most games then.

Nice job on the flash!
I loved Mr. DO! I even went so far as to go 50-50 with a friend of mine on a cocktail version of the game (i.e., one of those sit-down consoles).
Mr. DO! was produced by Universal, a company that specialized in selling conversion kits to arcades. They'd sell the chips and some stickers that would allow you to change almost any stand-up arcade game into one of their games. A friend and I became completely addicted to Mr. DO! and we knew the location of almost every one in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Part of the fun was trying to figure out what the Mr. DO! game used to be -- either by the burn-in on the monitor, or by the artwork on the cabinet.
