Life continues to happen. Friends will come and go, and the effects of the things you do will inevitably fade. It doesn't make them any less inconsequential, though - the hand-up you gave to a friend could have repercussions for the rest of their life! Even if they eventually forget that one incident, their life will be enriched from your help, just as yours is when your friends give you some help! We're all in this together, and every little good that you put out in the world will add up.

Those that around you will be affected by you, like your existence affects others. Every accomplishment, every time you reach out and help pull someone up, is worth doing.
