Reasons to never trust a cheetah and a double crossing cross fox:
1) Property Damage. Somehow, these two managed to take down an entire ship. And by take, I mean they sunk it. And set it on fire. They destroyed the whole ship. Just the two them. Somehow.
2) Larceny. Not only will they burn your ship down. They will steal your life boat. Probably after having set fire to the other life boats as well. Not only that, that lovely chest of jewels and gold and other precious things that you worked so hard to pirate will be taken as well.
3) Rum. The most egregious of their treacheries. They stole the rum too. Need more be said?
I've been looking forward to post this picture for a while! Well, actually, only since, like, March. But still. I had to post this one next! Because it's awesome!
So, a bit of background on this piece. I love getting commissions, but I don't do it as often with friends as I should. But I love getting commissions with friends! And Chrim and I had been friends for a while, and so naturally there was the desire to get a commission together. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean we were able to come up with a good idea. Like, literally a year went by of:
"We should get a commission!"
"Yeah!"
"Of what?"
"No idea! You?"
"Nope!"
Which was sad because I was coming up with so many other ideas for solo commissions. So a year or so went by of us hemming and hawing about what to commission, and it's not like we had an artist in mind anyways.
However! Roundabouts February or March of this year, Chrim lets me know he managed to get a commission slot from BlackTeagan and wanted to share it with me. And I'm all like "Wait, what?" This was an artist that had been on my Artist Bucket List, so to speak. Those artists really good or really rare to commission that I just had to commission at least once. But not only that, I was in the middle of a Commission Fast, for lack of a better term. Needed to save my money, so was gonna buy no commissions for the whole semester. But this was an opportunity too good to pass up, and so I accepted Chrim's offer, and so all that was left to do was find a good commission idea.
We bounced around things we like and made a short list of ideas that we presented to Teagan, and she thumbnailed a few, and this Pirate idea was the one Chrim and I thought was the best of the lot, so we went with it.
As you can see from the results, it was well worth breaking my commission fast, because this picture turned out awesome! It's fun, adventurous, and pirates! And it was certainly a most excellent commission to share with my good friend, and so I thank him for offering to share the commission slot with me.
Big thanks to BlackTeagan as well for taking our commission doing an excellent job with the picture!
