Alright, so as super adorable as a lot of the 'Round body' Pokemon are (such as Igglybuff, Marill, Natu, etc.) many of them are a real bitch to try to convert into my style without having them stray waaay too far from their original designs. They need to fit into my world, but just as well people still need to recognize them.
Jumpluff are relatively peaceful Grass type Pokemon that prefer to just bounce around (or use the leaf-ears on their heads to glide) from place to place while eating grass and seeds they find scattered around the ground. though, unknown to them, while they are grazing, they are collecting flower pollen on their 'puffs' and spreading them around, ultimately helping the environment produce more flowers.
Jumpluff also tend to make quite popular pets for gardeners because of this, helping their trainers to better produce their plants.
the droppings of these little buggers also seem to make excellent plant food, helping vegetation grow faster and more plentiful and healthy.
Like many Grass types (aside from a select few), Jumpluff do not tend to live very long lives, living only for about 12 to 15 years.
And if given the chance, many wild Jumpluff are known to return to the area in which they were born and upon their last few moments of life, they will release the cotton spores on their bodies one last time to spread around the area.
most of these spores will fall to the ground and become grass or flowers, but a few of them (the slightly bigger spores) are actually their offspring. when these spores touch the soil, small tendril-like appendages sprout from the spore's casing and begin to burrow into the ground where the offspring will spend 3 months developing.
After those 3 months are up, the 'eggs' will hatch, giving birth to a batch of brand new and super tiny Hoppip nymphs to restart the cycle.
Other facts about Jumpluff
- Similar to Pokemon such as Vaporeon, Corsola and Gastrodon, all Jumpluff are hermaphrodites.
- Like many Grass types, save for Abomasnow, Jumpluff are known to hibernate in the winter.
- Using their large leaf-like ears, they are capable of flight and have been seen gliding across the skies in tight group formations in search of food and breeding grounds.
- Even for the case of owned Jumpfluff, it is often suggested for trainers to say goodbye and release their Jumpluffs when then they are starting to die from old age so that they can return to their birthplace to reproduce a final time and pass away in peace. though of course, not all Jumpluff will leave their trainers should they have a strong bond with them. and in that case, it is the trainers' job to collect the spores and release them his or herself to keep the cycle going.
