An interesting use of quail egg from
!
Quick and simple dish that'd be great for lunches. High protein, maximum deliciousness!
You will need:
4-5 quails eggs.
1 decent sized rollmop (Pickled herring)
Your choice of salad leaves. I went for mixed baby leaves and rocket.
Boil your quails eggs for 2.5 minutes, remove into a seive and dunk into chilled water to stop cooking afterwards. If you want your eggs slightly more hard boiled, do 3.5 minutes instead. :3
Peel the quails eggs. The easiest way to do this is to crack the bottom of the shell, where the air sac is located, and peel off the shell along with the outer membrane. It may not be easy at first, but after a few tries you'll be amazed how quick you pick it up.
Slice your rollmop into even pieces and place with your salad leaves. Add your quails eggs, whole or chopped depending on preference/whether soft/hard boiled. Add a little pepper and some rock salt, and if you're me a tiiiny splash of balsamic for the salad leaves (though the pickled herring should be more than vinegary enough for most of you. ;D)
If you have your eggs softboiled, the self-saucing yolk will bring your salad up to another level. :3
