Welcome to Frappuchinos! Now Serving: A Hospital Visit
My friend
ElBadjah is in the hospital for an irregular heart rhythm, and after something today (that I will mention in this story), he felt scared and alone. Well, he lives in Florida and I don't, so I can't visit, but hopefully this will be the next best thing.

There were only two things Venti hated in life. Elevators and hospitals. Both caused claustrophopia, the spaces and hallways seemed designed to make him crouch and have to maneuver so that people wouldn't be as uncomfortable as he was while in those places.
Today he was in both. Watching the numbers climb in the elevator as he crouched, he wished that he could have taken the stairs. It was only him in the elevator, small comfort, and when the doors finally opened to his destination, he quickly moved out to the reception desk.
"Hi," he said to the nurse behind the desk, who was doing paperwork when he spoke. The look on his face was one of surprise, and Venti inwardly grinned. It was almost worth the discomfort to see that. "I'm here to see Blaireau Bougon?"
"Oh, yes. He's in room 2122. Just down the hall and to your left."
Venti said thanks, and went to the room, having to move sideways when someone walked past and stared. He didn't care--this was not the time to enjoy the awe of strangers.
Blaireau's heart stopped for seven seconds today. He'd been in the hospital for a couple of days now thanks to an irregular heart rhythm. When Venti heard he drove the hour's drive to Blair.
"Venti! What're you doing here?" The badger was wearing a hospital gown with little blue squares covering his grey and white chest. Venti tried to avoid looking at the IV in the badger's forearm. He hated needles.
"Heard you were slacking off so I wanted to see what the appeal was." He crouched next to the bed, running a clawtip around the badger's shoulder. "Is there any? Because that gown looks tacky."
"Says the jackal wearing tank tops and shorts."
"Hey, I'm not a fashion show like you, Blair."
"Thanks for coming to see me, Venti."
"Sorry I couldn't visit sooner. Had to work midshifts every day."
"You're here now."
Venti reached down to hold Blair's hand in his. The badger looked so small, so withdrawn. A reversal from the bold, brash, and confident badger he knew.
Venti hated hospitals. They made everything seem so small. Even people.

Argh... Hospitals.. Too many times I've seen them... *sniffs and wipes at his nose* Great last lines man!
Um.. I hope you don't mind me askin (And I'm probably being REALLY awkward saying this) But... you refer to them as people quite often.. I was just wondering why?
(Prepares himself for a barrage of insults >.< )
