His maw/belly is designed to not fill up with stomach acid quite as quickly as other preds. If it does, his prey stops moving and that's no fun. PLUS if his prey pushes on the tender flesh against his maw, he'll start having acid dribble out and that's not a good thing. You'll be fine~
