So, this is something that has been in the works for a few months now. Years, if you count the time that I waited for the tree branch to thoroughly dry out in the garage before I started working with it.
Maple branch. All swirls are carved in with an inlay of blue metallic paint. Band areas were carved out so that the bands would hold firm. Once all carving and inlay work was finished, I then coated polyurethane three times to make it durable and well protected. Features deer skin soft bands and a hand tooled central accent band just above the grip (with the wolf face). Wolf's eyes match the blue frostfire swirls. Also features a real antler spike and two large peacock wing feathers.
I wish I could get better pictures of it, as these do little justice to the actual beauty of this staff.
(Got my dad to hold it so that I could take pictures of the staff.)

I carved some of them with blades, but then used an electric engraver to do the swirl pattern, because I needed a thin line and couldn't get it with my blade set. They're pretty easy to use, if you can handle a pen that vibrates and is super noisy. (Worse than a tattoo gun) but not horrible to control.
