It's really too soon to upload this. But maybe having this in my scraps will light a fire under my tuckus and get me to fix the problems and finish it.

Renard_V is something I've wanted to do ever since the tune got lodged in my head and I started singing it in the shower. And even though it falls under the cheesycore label, I really am trying to do the song justice and make it a good production, while I push the capabilities of my Mac G5 and virtual symphonic instruments to the limit. So far, I'm maybe a third of the way.
Eventually it will be exactly as long as Renard's original and at the exact tempo, because I like working under strict parameters. The tempo is there but there are problems with the string sounds and the velocity sensitivity of my virtual Rhodes piano. Worse, it's harder to sing than one might realize. Getting two passes of a octave-doubled rough vocal recorded pretty much wore me out. Clearly I need to be in somewhat better shape to pull off the tricky acapella breakdown which will round out the chorus, so I'll have to leave the keeper vocals for another time.
This one's going to take more than my usual four hours of discretionary time. But once it's done, I hope it will be a good representation of what I can pull off in the pop-symphonic realm with the tools available to me. With guys like
FoxAmoore around keeping the bar high, I can't slack off on this stuff anymore.

OH MY GOD.
This is awesome, nice use of the tymp for the lower voices. WHen I first clicked on this I thought it was going to be the original Amber Starlight, but Reveals the Night is awesome as well.!
Ah! More percussion sounds are coming out of nowhere, is that Glockenspeil I hear??
Amazing.

Oh stop it! It's not a masterpiece until it starts sounding like there are a bunch of people in an actual concert hall with violins and cellos and Danish horns and flurinets and lagoons and such...
Seriously, I'm going for the full symphonic illusion here. That'll take a while.
