I still don't have a lot of private time to get any writing done, but I figured I oughtn't let the gallery shrivel up during this dry spell, so I've decided to dig up some of my old photography projects.
I can't recall if I've mentioned this here before, but I've been an amateur photographer for many years now, and I used to pursue it academically until a few years ago. This picture dates back to those days, and I still like the way it came out. The model was a friend of mine who wanted to get into film-directing (you're shocked, I can tell).
There will probably be a few more of these over the course of the next week or so, depending on how things go.
This image and your soul belong to me.

I haven't followed a good photographer in years! :D used to date a proffessional photographer, so I picked up a little tiny bit of knowledge about it. I can say, this picture is absolutely incredible. I hav eto ask how long it took you to get this shot so perfect. do you remember?
Thanks for the kind words!
If memory serves, this shoot went pretty quickly: it took about 15 minutes to get the lighting just right, then 5 minutes of actual shooting (it took a bit to get the eye in exactly the right place), and then maybe 5 more minutes in Adobe Lightroom for editing/polishing. Lighting is generally the most time-consuming part of the process unless you're doing nature-photography, but I'm lucky in that I've always had a decent eye for it. And given how positive the response to this has been, I may just showcase some more examples of that
