"Cattus Alfa" (A poor Latinazation of "Cat Faerie")
You've got it backwards: Species names are general first, specific after.
Either cattus or felis are acceptable for 'cat.' There is no latin word for fairy, but 'genius' may be a close approximation.
Thus 'genius cattus' is the best I can do. It literally means 'cat spirit.' Or 'very minor local deity with an association to cats.'

Also the word 'fairy' is derived from 'fata' which is Latin for "Fates" (as in the Fates from Roman mythology) so there is actually a word that could work for Fairy. I was just going for something that vaguely sounded like Latin Gibberish after one quick Google search.
