EEYYYYY
Has it seriously only been like three days? Feels like three years. LOTS'A STUFF GOING ON BUT I'M RUSHING TONIGHT TO GET THE LAST COMMISSIONS DONE AND UPLOADED BEFORE TOMORROW.
At the very least, I can happily say that the things that came up and have kept me away from the tablet have been SUPER GOOD NEWS things. But instead of writing about that right now I'm going to submit things top-speed like a maniac. The internet is fucking up and this tablet is old and slow (irregularly slower than usual today) so we'll just see how much I can get up before something crashes.
I swear, if my fantastic roomate would stop using up our bandwidth and giving our wifi password to everyone he brings over, this wouldn't be a problem.
NOT GONNA BE A PROBLEM MUCH LONGER THOUGH HOORAY.
Digressing- here's the very last FWA commission!

I just use Copics and Cardstock ;w;
I recently tried Prismacolors and in my experience they were really uncomfortable and didn't perform like I needed at all. The color palette was also really lacking, even with the full set available to try out in the store- I kept finding that they go on really heavy and harsh and don't blend well at all. I used three different shades of pink, and they were all identical. It's like the jump between obviously different shades is TOO MUCH and all the shades clump together instead of working like a 'color staircase' to get from one to another. And you wind up oversaturating the drawing.
They make some bangin' colored pencils though. But I only use marker now, colored pencil for full coloring is just too frustrating and time consuming.

Ah!
That explains things.
I have never used copics or prismacolors before. I will have to get some cardstock, and try some copics and see how things are! :D
Do you use a blending marker to blend too? I read that that can help. It's like a clear marker you put on the paper first or something, right?...
I dunno. I plan on buying Sakura white gel pens, and sakura ink pens.... and copic markers now! Unless you have any better suggestions. ;w;
I am not too familiar with traditional art, since before I just used a mechanical pencil, printerpaper, and never colored my work. xD

Copics are the best stuff in the world, marker-wise. But you pay for what you get. The average copic marker costs $8. And there are currently 5 sets. Each set is $500, roughly.
You get tons of colors, they are so easy to use, and I honestly can't say a bad thing about them. Printing paper is fine to color on, the blending and shades would look the same. But I use card stock for commissions because it's sturdier and I would feel bad giving out something thinner or flimsy.
Never heard of Sakura, myself. But I don't use blender markers. They can blend, but they can also noticeably discolor the area, making it lighter by pushing the ink TOO much. I have two with the 5 Copic sets I own.
