Alright, this is the first picture I've posted of Setreil since his contest submission, so I'm a little nervous about it. He's gone through so many changes since then! First and foremost is the fact that he's no longer an aquatic serpent, and second of all that through some very prolonged and intense role-play, he's gained not only a wife, but a son as well. (Soon to have a daughter!) So... yeah. He's a warrior, as illustrated by the weapons he's wearing. I'll save a more intensive character detail for a later piece, though, as this one was more concept than anything else.
In any case, in the present, he's scarred terribly from a war he's fought in, and while on vacation I was struck with the urge to draw both him, and a close friend of his when they were younger, unmarred by physical or emotional scars. So here, he's about equivalent to 17-19 years old, and Tariq, the cobra, is around the same as well. Tariq is an oddity among my nagas, because cobra types are rare. Also, he's the son of a concubine, hence why he's wearing the slave bells.
Please forgive the fact that he looks kinda girly. It wasn't intentional, and was mostly because I didn't want to reposition his right hand. Doh.
Anyways, I had no reference, I'm aware his hood looks like poop, but I really did have a lot of fun with this sketch. Expect more art of these snakies, I'm growing very fond of them. (What is with me and the scale-tail things. Between them and my mermen, I think anthro will be the death of me! x_x)
