This is Chapter 8 to a commissioned novel. It is set in my Caretaker Universe, and is universe canon. The story follows Rooky, a young male tanuki (basically a raccoon with some panda thrown in there :P), who has made some extraordinarily bad life choices, but eventually goes off his better judgment and makes a very poor choice indeed... One that sucks him into the clutches of a certain secret society.
