This here is my very first try on making a story about two of my own original characters.
This one is all about the fursona of myself Philip the Cat, and how he for the first time meets a close friend (And secret love interest) Tammy the Hippo.

This is all a very simple slice of life story, (With a little bit of shipping in it.) and I hope that you all like it.
The two main characters belongs to me.
It was at a late evening when Philip the Cat felt like having a small candy bar. and decided to leave his home to go to a small corner shop that wasn't that far away.
Once in the shop the male feline went over to where the candy bars where being stocked up, and saw that someone else was already standing over there.
From the big body shape he could determined that it was a hippo, and by looking at the black and pink dress it was wearing that it was a female.
As she turned around and faced him he could see that she wasn't the most common looking. She had green coloured hair, several piercings in both her one ear and lip, and a spiky bracelet.
She was also very big, (But that was pretty common for hippos, no matter gender.) as she was both much wider and taller as the cat facing her.
Philip didn't really know what to feel as she was staring at him. He had always found himself pretty attracted to "big girls" (like Elephants or Giraffes.), but this lady was something...special. It was her whole outer persona that was strangely inviting to him, like how "dangerous" and "in charge" she seemed to be. She didn't seem afraid (or ashamed) to tell her opinion on things, and that is just what his dream woman would have done. The more and more he thought about it, it all seemed to be true. He was in love with her!
"What are you staring at?!" She hippo gal suddenly said, making Philip wake up from his dreams.
"What? Oh! It's you. You are so...big?" Philip said in a panic mix of confusion and apology, and at the end attempt at a compliment.
It all clearly didn't fly well with the hippo, as she said "Yes, I'm big! That's why I go to stores late and night and grab all the candy bars that I can!" before stomping of angrily towards that cash register to pay.
Left behind Philip kicked himself over messing up that meeting so badly.
Feeling utterly defeated he just grabbed what usually was his favourite chocolate bar, and also headed towards the cash register.
Being that it was such a small corner shop they only had one cash register, and there happen to right now be a small line of customers wanting to pay.
As Philip walked up to the line he saw that he happen to be right behind the hippo girl from earlier, and that felt pretty awkward.
"I wonder if she know I am standing right behind her right now? If so then I wonder what she is thinking about me? Does she think I am some kind of weirdo for following her? Or a jerk?" All of these questions went through Philip's head as he just stood quiet behind the female hippo, not moving or saying anything.
As the line moved forward the hippo girl dropped her candy-bar at the floor, and after some mumbling cursing to herself she was about to reach down and pick it up when suddenly she saw Philip beating her to it!
The Blue and Yellow cat had simply forgot about any kind of bad meeting the two of them had had before, and just wanted to be a nice helper to her. (He often wanted to help all types of people when ever he could.) As he handed the candy bar over to her and looked her in the eyes once more, she simply took it from him without saying anything, paid for it, and walked out.
Thinking that she definitively didn't want to have anything more to do with him, Philip also paid for his bar and headed out from the store.
As he turned to the right when he exited he suddenly heard a voice coming from behind saying "Are you also going that way?".
Turning around he saw that it was the hippo girl that (surprisingly) wanted him to join her for a night walk!
"Y-Yes. I am just heading for my home, and I don't know if you live anywhere near." Philip said carefully, (not wanting to upset her again.) and she said back "I'm okay with if I have to take a few extra blocks to get back home."
And so being a "romantic" night time walk for Philip and his hippo girl as they each where chewing on their candy-bars and admiring the stars on the sky.
"So what is your name, little guy?" The hippo asked, and Philip told her his name, while also asking for her name. "The name is Tamara, but I prefer to be called Tammy." She said.
"Tammy. I like that name. It sounds so...tough." Philip said, while once again feeling like a huge dork on the inside for how weird it sounded.
"Philip is not so bad either. Sounds like the name for someone that you can trust." Tammy said, which made Philip feel more confident with himself.
"You might wonder why I stayed and waited for you?" Tammy asked, and Philip gave a understanding nod as an answer.
"Well, to make a long story short I have during all of my life been treated like an outcast, and never really felt that anyone would care about me. So when you still wanted to pick up my candy bar after I shouted at you, I felt true kindness for once." Tammy said, before getting quiet for a moment.
"So where do you live exactly?" Tammy asked curiously.
"At the 24th street." Philip answered proudly.
"Is that where they built that new apartment building?" Tammy asked surprised.
"Yeah. I was one of the first to move in there." Philip said before he asked "Where do you live?"
"37th." Tammy answered, sounding a little half ashamed of it.
"I've heard that place is a bit harsh to live in." Philip said.
"Not when you show others who's the boss." Tammy said back before laughing a little. (Which actually meant a lot for her, as this was the first time in a while when she had been having such an open and true conversation with someone.)
As they reached the entrance to the apartment where Philip lived the cat knew that he had to say good bye to this very nice (and lovable) lady.
"I...hope you get a safe walk back to your place." He said. (Once again not liking how stupid he may sound saying something so "corny".)
"I'm not so worried. I can often take care of my own business." Tammy said while cracking her knuckles slightly.
"If you would ever want to come and visit me you are welcomed." Philip said in a vain attempt to see her again, and she surprised him completely by saying "How about we give each others phone numbers, so it can be easier to arrange a date for it?"
This was even better then what he could imagine as Philip quickly gave Tammy his phone number, and she gave him hers.
"Until next time then. I guess." Philip said, and Tammy replied with a "Yes. Until next time." as she left him.
As Philip later went to bed that night he was truly happy as he now by sheer coincidence got himself a new friend. "And one day I will dare to tell her that I also love her." he thought as he started to drift of to sleep. (And maybe dream more about her there? )
