Giant Friendly Animals - Baby T. Rex
There used to be an interactive story on Writing.com called 'Giant Friendly Animals'. It was pretty much exactly what the title said, with a lot of growing animals of various species separated into a bunch of different storylines. This interactive was up for roughly three years before unfortunately being deleted 17 days ago to this day. This interactive happened to be where I met the magnificent
DNApalmhead himself, initially without knowing it, as he used to contribute chapters to the interactive.
These chapters DNA contributed were alarge part of what drove me to improve my writing, and it saddens me to see so much of what was written in the interactive lost. However, I did manage to save some of the storylines he contributed to, albeit in a raw text format. He recently gave me the green light on posting them on my account, so I've decided to share the growiness with you!
In this storyline, you took on the role of a baby T. Rex, newly hatched inside a scientific laboratory and grown with a growth ray. As you can see, that growth ray gets put to good use!
Already over 11 feet tall, and still a hatchling, you figure you're doing something right, given how happy they seem to be with your growth--you feel so big, so powerful! Most of the humans chatter to themselves, then all nod affirmatively, and head into the next room. Still liking the attention, you bump your reptilian snout softly on the plexiglass divider keeping your in your side of the room; the one human still remaining at the modulator panel looks up, and smiles at you, waving. He seems nice! You wiggle, and clamp your muzzle back over the ray gun; the man looks back over his shoulder, then gulps; he sure looks like he wants to help!
Sure enough, he slides his chair over to the door the scientists just left through, locks it, and grins wide, as he gets back to the panel, turns a dial, and then leans in, watching avidly, as he blasts right into your hungry maw again!
Your scales stretch nicely as you feel your toeclaws digging happily into the floor, your head thumping the ceiling more and more; you fill the containment area, over 25 feet of giddy baby t-rex, hugging the growth ray with your growing little t-rex arms, and sucking away on it as the human reaches to turn the gun off, in so doing spilling coffee on the control panel; bright lights flicker and pop, and you open your eyes at the sound, just as you feel your growing mass pressing harder and tighter against the pane of glass; there's no room left to take up, but the ray just keeps blasting!
Best first day of life ever!
[The slow growth continues, as you break through the building unstoppably!]
Your feet bump out into the plexiglass divider, swelling out larger and stronger as the glass starts to bend by the slightest of pleading degrees against so much growing reptile; the human at the shorted-out console gasps and runs out of the room, through a different doorway; you hear the other humans banging against the locked door, and you figure you might as well go to them! The more you suckle on the ray gun, the bigger you bulge out, the space growing so tight that it feels a little painful, but mostly good, at the same time; you splay your huge toes over the cracking glass, then, with the most minimal of effort, you shove your feet and tail out, shattering the structure, and allowing your gigantic body to continue flooding the rest of the room unhindered. It felt good to press against everything, but this is even nicer!
You suck away at the still-firing beam, 45 feet of baby t-rex thundering up bigger and bigger; the growth rate spikes without warning, and you feel yourself stretch wonderfully out to fill the area; this is just like a minute ago, so you know the room won't hold you, and you casually stand upright, over 65 growing feet of power bursting up through the ceiling, past the carpeting of the second floor; simultaneously, you feel your belly push through the wall below, snapping the locked doors off their hinges. You feel all the tiny humans wriggling against your belly, and wonder just how much they must be laughing now, what with how big you are--this must be what they wanted, after all!
With every trembling burst of size, you spread out through more and more of the interior, engulfing the paneling, flooring, and piping with every little motion; you really don't need to move much, and it's just too amusing to see everything clattering and crumbling--with another heave of size, your 100-foot tall form crashes free of the inside, revealing a huge, sprawling courtyard--a terrarium, the humans would call it--with more plexiglass boxes set up all over, with other, much smaller dinosaurs inside; still holding the growth beam in between your teeth, you try to roar 'hello' to them, only to have the beam tumble down your throat! You cough a little, and try to suck in to solve the problem, not realizing that you just sucked the power cables and console clear through the building, the generator following after as it goes up into your mouth!
You can feel it still inside of you, no longer blasting away...you must be over 130 feet, though, your shadows spilling over the little dinos around you--you open your maw to try telling them hello again, when...
[You hiccup, making the ray gun blast you much bigger!]
You suddenly let loose a hiccup, blinking your reptilian eyes sheepishly; if you could blush, you certainly would! And on the topic of reasons for embarrassment, you feel the beam react to the muscular spasm, as it blasts away again in side of you--it's so much warmer this way, kind of nice, really! You feel your entire body pull tight, lurching massively larger as your growth forces you through the remainder of the courtyard wall, your 150-foot baby t-rex figure plopping down beyond heavily onto the turf; all the tinier dinosaurs within their plexiglass cages look at you, stunned by not just your sheer size, but the spectacle you make in entering!
Wriggling the debris off of yourself, you rise...and rise...and rise...and rise, now standing upright at over 220 feet tall! You feel so big! So huge! It feels fantastic, energy flooding your body as it swells greedily bigger over the others--you hardly feel mean-spirited about the whole matter, of course, but it is a bit of thrill to loom so thoroughly! You lower your growing muzzle over a cage, blasting it with your sniffling, caking the thing in a brief mist--can they grow bigger, too? It sure doesn't seem like it...
Your thoughts are interrupted as the humans pour out from behind a door on the opposite end of the rapidly-diminishing interior; you swell even larger as they enter, thudding your head loudly on the glass dome allowing light into the courtyard, a little shiver of pleasure racing through you from the collision; over 250 feet tall, now, you have to stoop lower, splaying out your gigantic legs as best as you can, before you get even larger, the growth pushing your head out along the roofing, and up over the crowd; they back away, as one of them is pushed forward to you, shaking visibly; it's the human who helped make you so big! This is great! You wag your tail, feeling it swell and bulge thicker against the cracked wall behind you, and lean way down, nuzzling away on the man thankfully; he blinks, then reciprocates, his scent shifting to relief as he rubs softly on your huge muzzle.
The others shout at him to put the antidote into use, and he protest, saying it's untested, so on, so forth. Meanwhile, you can feel your sides pressing tighter and tighter against the other cages, making cracks form in them; the caged reptiles back away, some in fear, others in anticipation of freedom! The men shout at the nice human again, and he pulls out a small syringe, painlessly injecting your snout with it; you hardly mind, you trust him just fine!
As you surge to 300 feet, you finally feel the beam's effects slowing to a halt--and you completely fill the courtyard, as well, every bit of you pushing hard against the cracked, shattering cages, pushing the other dinos into the wall, along with the humans; but strange, you suddenly feel a new sensation, as the syringe's dose beings to take effect...
[The Antidote just throws fuel on the fire!]
The growing pressure of your body pumping up against and filling the massive courtyard fades, surprisingly, as you're flooded with an odd, cool feeling of relief, your body no longer getting any bigger, your scaly skin no longer stretching so loud or wide; instead, you feel yourself condensing some, inching smaller and smaller in the tiniest of degrees away from the roof, little shards of glass harmlessly tumbling and bouncing off of your 270-foot form...make that 250 feet! It isn't a bad sensation, this lessening of pressure, but honestly it felt much nicer to increase rather than decrease. You look yourself over quizzically, giving off a little 'rawr' of confusion, before one eye twitches a bit, and you try to put your comparatively little arms up to your muzzle, as you hiccup heavily, recoiling just a bit from how hard you do so.
The scientists stopped their brief cheers of victory, everyone freezing in pre-panic at the sound of your hiccuping. They had gotten you just small enough to where they were no longer pressed so hard against the crackling walls by your bulk, but now your 200 foot-tall body was starting to shake violently, and you hiccuped again, and again, unable to stop. The pressure build back up, and then some, as you felt the hot ray blast off inside of you again and again and again, making you 'ruuuuuurrrurrrl' happily as the pleasure returned.
One little human yelled to the others, something about unforseen allergic reactions to the antidote, and they all took off as fast as they could, for some reason. Shouldn't they be happy? As you noodle it over, your eyes suddenly roll back in your dino skull, and you huff and pant and blooooooooow up to over 320 feet, in one rude, thick push, crashing up through the ceiling, sending glass and drywall and beams all over the air, before you tense up and balloon even larger, shooting up to 460 feet, your growing scaly belly pushing wider as it grinds all the topside and sides of the compound apart! The other dinos all crawl out of the openings cracking in the walls, escaping with panicked expressions as they turn back and hear you growling cutely, seeing you tower to over 600 feet, then 700; feeling better than ever before, you can't help but raise your head up high and blast a happy beam of growth energy into the clouds, before surging powerfully, unstoppably up to 900 feet!! You can feel your toes digging into the soil in glee as you rise taller and wider, more and more tonnage sinking your heaving body into the ground below. Finally you come to a stop, panting and licking your chops in approval, surveying everything below in satisfaction. What a great day it's been!
That strange feeling resumes, the pressure dropping again, as you begin to shrink just as suddenly as you grew, losing 50 feet one second, then another 60 after; at around 800 feet in size, you start stomping around the edge of the city ,snuffling curiously on buildings, seeing yourself in their glassy reflections--well, the taller buildings, that is! You shrink and shrink, down to 600 feet, tapping a massive skyscraper with your muzzle, buffeting it with blasts of air; you can see all these tiny humans inside, and you realize they're as trapped as you were! You want to help them like they helped you before, but you're only 550 feet tall now! They all gawk through their windows and back away, however, as you don't hiccup this time, but feel your nose tingling something awful...
