Bunny had a sudden urge for biscuits n gravy... BUT I HAD NO GRAVY... NOOOOO!!!! O.o o.O
Never fear!!! Bunny is here!!!... To prevent you from making biscuits without sausage gravy that is. >.>
Ah... Sausage gravy... Practically the most easiest thing you could ever cook, aside from a boiled egg. >.<
Simple, yet tasty seems to be what bunny here cooks a lot. Not only is this gravy awesome on biscuits, it's awesome on a waffle with syrup, and it's great with chicken, hell even as a dip if you want.
Ingredients are as follows
1 pack of sausage mix *Or... 16 ounces/1 lb. of your own sausage mix*
1 tbsp hot sauce
1 clove garlic *minced*
2 - 4 cups milk *It all depends on your desired thickness, i like mine between thick/thin so I used 3 1/2*
2 tbsp flour
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil *Or butter*
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
*You can add other seasonings if wanted. I used -Slap Ya Mamma-... Cause it's really good >.<*
Also you don't need some green stuff on it. I just really like basil, so i just put some on lol.
Estimated prep time - Roughly 2 minutes
Estimated cook time - Roughly 10 minutes
Serving size - Serves about 3 very hungry critters or 5 critters with a normal appetite. :p
Directions
*Best to start in a small pot*
- Start heating up your pot on medium/high heat, be sure to add some olive oil as well. *If you're using butter keep the heat at medium to low/medium... burnt butter sucks trust me*
- Add your sausage mix... and start mixinz! No really just start mixing it up to get little meat chunks. *If you want you can add a bit of water to help get those little meat chunks*
- Once the meat is mixed well and fully cooked, add your minced garlic. Stir that in for a bit.
- Add your flour and mix it up. Have it cook for a while, I say about one minute on medium heat.
- After the flour has been cooked off add your milk and hot sauce. Crank that baby up to medium/high. Also break out the whisk, you wanna make sure this gravy is silky smooth with no clumps of flour.
- Now we play the waiting game. Keep whisking it gently from time to time, giving it like 20 second breaks to help develop thickness.
- Once your desired thickness has been acquired add your salt n pepper to your liking. And that's it. Really. :3
And there you have it, some awesome sausage gravy. This also holds well, keeps it's consistency pretty well and heats up good too.
Give it a shot whenever you can, and lemme know how it goes. Happy cooking! :)
