To Ultimate
Deep inside of Leviamon's stomach, Kiya was using most of his strength to keep them from falling into the bubbling acids of the demon lord. Given the stomach's expansive size escape wasn't even an option and the heat and humidity of their current location made it almost unbearable. "I think I found our ship...I'll land us there, but I don't think we'll be safe anywhere for long."
The ship was far from okay, after Kiya landed the group onto the wooden planks they could already see for themselves the damage the trip into Leviamon had done to it. Even now the acids were working strongly to break down their ship. Lyle sighed in dissapointment, not too happy knowing that his hard work was being wiped clean. "You better have a good reason for bringing us in here Scav. We're inside one of the most dangerous digimon in the world! And I don't know about you but I'm NOT looking forward to becoming digi fat for this monstrosity."
Scav started rubbing his forehead, trying to drown out Lyle's ranting. "Listen to me for one moment. I doubt we have a lot of time before this ship's sunk. You built it though so we know that it's sturdy enough to last us at LEAST half an hour before it's unusable even as a foothold. Do you remember when you were being manipulated by the Darkness?"
"It's a bit foggy, but yes I do recall. You and Kiya rescued me and purified me. But what does that have to do with the situation here? You can't INFLUENCE a demon lord like this. Are you trying to tell me he's brainwashed with the Darkness like I was?" Lyle would have crossed his arms if he could, instead he started pacing himself, looking at the steaming acid below them, noting how the ship appeared to be sinking.
"Of course not, but I know something isn't right here. I got a good look at his spirit before we dove in, and it's giving off all sorts of weird waves. His body is in distress, if not on the outside then inside." Scav pointed out, looking around their surroundings. "The lords gave us their light...Maybe we can use it as a cloak to safely navigate through Leviamon's belly and find the source."
Now Kiya understood, but he wondered if it would work. "What if the disturbance isn't inside his gut, but another section of his body all together though? And even if we solve his little issue what makes you think he won't just churn us up into Leviamon pudge?"
Scav shook his head, using his digivice to store Lyle into it and started focusing on the light he recieved from Ebonwumon and Baihumon, working a cloak of pure white light around his body as a protective armor. "If it's in another part of his body then we've already lost. We weren't going to escape Leviamon with how the storm was going and I doubt we'd last long in a battle against a Mega of his calibur. It's either this works or our whole mission to meet Azulongmon and Zhuqiaomon is put down."
"Hey! Let me out of this contraption! You can store other digimon in it but not me ya hear?!" Lyle started roaring out, it got to the point where Scav digitized his digivice and relaxed, digivolving into Geogreymon.. When Kiya managed to work a cloak around his body as well they began their search inside of Leviamon, thankfully with their new sizes the stomach acids didn't rize much higher than their knees.
Kiya grumbled a bit, they sloshed through the acids and as they started making distance FROM the ship he could see the damage that was being done to it and cringed. "Say we do find the source...and Leviamon is...agreeable thereafter. How will we sail the sea now, my wings can't carry us overseas I'm not able to maintain this form for longer than half an hour..."
"One problem at a time bud. If we respawn in primary village we'll have to start from scratch. If we have to swim our way there at least we won't be back at the west where it took us TWO days just to reach one region." Scavenger pointed out, after a bit of walking he thought he spotted movement on the wall and started directing some of his light in that direction. "Did you see that?"
Kiya pointed towards one of the fleshy walls, a pink insect like creature leapt from one place to another. "It's right there! What is that?!?"
It didn't take long for Scav to pull out his digivice to start a scan of their invader, and just as quickly as it came he was able to identify it. "It's Parasimon. It's a Mega level digimon! But according to the digivice they aren't very powerful so they leech off other digimon, increasing their overall performance but also inducing a rage like state. If it's just one we can handle it. The question is how it got in here in the first place..."
"G-SHURUNEN!" Kiya cried out, instantly vaporizing the Parasimon with his laser attack, making sure not to cause any damage to Leviamon in the process. "Same way we did? Leivamon probably got peckish and accidentally ate one."
Scav stared dumbfounded, despite the Mega classification the Parasimon had been totally destroyed and he wondered if a digiegg had even been released. But given it's parasitic nature he really didn't care much. That was until he heard a scuttling sound above them. Slowly, he tilted his head up to see a mass of Parasimon flittering around, as if ready to pounce. "It...wasn't just one. Get ready because it's time to do some exterminating."
Back in the hotel, Coronamon decided to call it quits on his game with Fang. He digitized the cards and stood up with a sigh. "We shouldn't be just sitting here Fang. We've done nothing to help the team except keep them company. Both Max and RD can digivolve, Flare and Jesse both are at champion level from the GET GO. I'm sure Scavenger's party are all champions now too."
Fang took a small breath of air and moved to the mini fridge to pull out a couple of soda's. "Flare and Jesse are at champion levels yes. But take into account where their status put them. Flare or what's left of him is digesting inside of Max. Sure he'll be back in a bit but it still didn't help him any. And Jesse's out of the picture for now. He's merged with RD and at this point I think it's for the best." His voice remained calm, revealing the collected wolf within him that they all knew him for. "Digivolving in the digital world itself might improve our chances of survival and completing our mission but it won't help in this tournament. And somehow I doubt either of us would be a match for Myotismon."
"Damnit that's not what I'm saying!" Coronamon slammed his paw into the table. When Max started stirring, Coronamon realized he went too far and tried to calm down. "RD is back with Growlmon and there's no telling when he'll be back...We should at least take the time to help out by finding the tournament's saboteur. If Drill finds the culprit he won't just destroy the guy he'll absorb their data. We can find and resolve the issue ourselves and prevent anybody from losing their vital data."
It was then that Fang shook his head, finishing his soda and putting the empty can into the recycling bin. "Absolutely not. It'd be foolish to make a move without the whole team knowing of our intentions. Have you forgotten Max's encounter with Myotismon?! At best we should wait until Max awakens and consult with him."
Coronamon groaned, he was getting sick of sitting on the sidelines. Everyone else were doing something productive. All that Fang and Coronamon had done up till now had been the groups cheering squad. "Being a digimon might well be clouding my judgement. I never would have been so rash in the human world as a Charmeleon, BUT I feel that the only thing the rest of our team is doing is babysitting the two of US."
That's when it hit Fang that this wasn't just about taking action, it was about Coronamon's place in the group. With a deep breath he started rubbing the back of his neck. "Listen...Nobody is babysitting us. You just washed over the key word in your sentance. We're a team, do you know what that means?" When the air was silent, save for Max's snorting he continued. "We all have things that we can and can't do. Max and the others are more suited to battle than we are. We're the brains of the group and they count on us to keep a level head."
"Oh really? Where have we contributed to the group? We've given no helpful advice as of yet. If we had then Max wouldn't have been caught off guard by Myotismon and we'd already know whose sabotaging the tournament." Coronamon pointed out, trying to calm himself down before he did something he regretted.
The sudden laughter from Fang caught Coronamon off guard, one could imagine that the Gaomon had gone mad. But he shoved a book onto the table and smiled. "I've been compiling information ever since we came into the digital world. Keeping a steady log of the digimon we encountered and their attack patterns and information. There's even a decent ammount of information on Blade just from his match yesturday and the one that just finished playing out." Fang pointed his glove to the hollow screen where Blade had finished off a Tyrannomon.
This caught Coronamon off guard, and it got him to thinking. "Wait...we were talking this whole time. How did you ever get the time to write in that journal, keep an eye on the match and manage to stay in the conversation?"
"That's no big challenge. As I said, there are things only we can do and things we can't. I'm not a fighter, even with these gloved fists I couldn't enter a blind fight. But I have a very good attention span and I can divide it among several tasks at once. See..." Fang put his gloved paws to his head, giving a small pat on his head. "My power comes from in here. Not in my fists, and that's how I'll help the team out, in fact I'm sending all of the information I'd compiled on Blade to RD's digivice as we speak...he should be recieving it any moment now."
This served to both irritate Coronamon, and amaze him at the same time. Here Fang was, juggling several things at once all while keeping a level head. And all he was doing was whining and complaining. "I...don't have those smarts so...what's my place in the group...?"
Fang sighed, opening the journal then lifting his head to keep his eyes locked on Coronamon. "I thought it was obvious enough. Who here has more combat experience...You're the second line of defense in our group. If all else fails you're our last line of defense. Our trump card so to speak and I'm about to SHOW you how and why."
Motioning Coronamon to move closer, and when he did he turned the book over so the fire digimon could read it's contents. When Coronamon's eyes widened he couldn't help but snicker. "I'm good at my job. And I've found a way to optimize Max and RD's battle performance as well. We'll wait for Max to wake up before we make a move."
Back inside of Leviamon, Scav and Kiya were frantically running from a swarm of Parasimon. Occasionally Scavenger would impale one with his horn, reducing it to data and Kiya would end up stomping a few into the acidic pool. Both of them knew one thing though, they were vastly outnumbered. Kiya gritted his teeth as eventually, they were surrounded by the mass of Parasimon. "Well bud...any more bright ideas?"
Scavenger growled, stretching the arm bands on his claws. "If I were in my original dragon form I could teleport us out of this place. We destroy one and two more hop in it's place. Sorry for getting you caught up in this..."
"Hush." Kiya grinned, patting Scav on the back while keeping his attention on their approaching adveraries. "I told you back at Ebonwumon's village that I don't regret coming with you. dead or alive I'm with you to the end."
Suddenly, almost as soon as Kiya said this, numerous tenticles latched onto both the Dragon AND the Dino. "Damnit! What's this now?!" Scav grumbled, then let out a growling roar as a surge of electricity started running through him via the Tenticles. "GAAAAAH!" He tried breaking free of his bindings as he fought through the pain.
"Scav!" Kiya cried out, worry in his voice before he himself roared in agony as the same Electrical current going through his friend started surging through him as well. "Don't...you dare give in! We can beat this!"
Scavenger growled low, keeping his teeth clenched in an attempt to drive off the pain. "M-Mega flame!" He fired at the Parasimon that had Kiya wrapped up, incenerating them enough for Kiya to get free.
As the smoke rose from his body, Kiya looked at the Parasimon still discharging their electricity into his friend and opened his mouth. "Green flare breath!" As he cried out his attack, great flashes of green fire burst from his jaws, completely deleting the Parasimon that were harming his friend. "Get up Scav...We can't give up now."
Panting, Scav looked at Kiya with a pained expression, giving a toothy smile. "Not giving up...but the rest is up to you..." With that, Scav's body started glowing inwardly as he reverted to his base Agumon form.
"Damnit no!" Kiya bared his fangs. There's no way that Scav would survive in this enviornment as a rookie, but he didn't have any chances to take out his digivice to store him so he tossed Scav into his mouth and swallowed. "This whole time, he was more concerned with me getting out of here in one piece. His whole basis of this plan was to get us OUT of this situation in one piece. And you guys screw this up." There was pure rage in Kiya's eyes now, hatred at the Parasimon that swarmed into his location, but the sudden fiery gaze. His hate filled eyes gave them pause before a surge of energy started welling up inside of him.
"Coredramon digivolve TO!" Kiya roared out, his body shining as he started digivolving into his ultimate form. His body started morphing from a biped to a quadroped, the six horns on his head starting to alter and form into spiked ridges lining along the back of his head all the way to the tip of his tail. The end of which tipped with a spiked mace. Both his wings started morphing, turning into two massive clawed paws with armored spikes on the backside of the newly formed paws. His eyes burned crimson red as he slammed his new set of claws into the first wave of Parasimon. "Groundramon!" He roared out, Actually sending a tremor through the stomach.
A few of the Parasimon started showing hesitation, From one smack of those paws, Kiya had managed to wipe out one third of their forces. "Scrapless claw!!" He growled out, grabbing another set of Parasimon in the claws on his back and started applying pressure, crushing them all into bits and data, leaving but a small fraction of their forces remaining. "You will all know the true wrath of a dragon!" His eyes continued to burn, staring at what little numbers the Parasimon had left and smacked his tail hammer into the water a bit, splashing the contents about. "Megaton hammer crush!" He roared, sending ripples throught he chamber as his tail hammer started mowing down what little resistance the Parasimon had tried to form.
After the initial outburst, Kiya started to cool down, and took the time to spit Scav out and set him into his digivice. "It's done...damn...So this is the power of an ultimate. I feel like...It's getting harder to keep my anger in check..."
A voice sounded throughout the belly, startling Kiya and shaking the place up a bit. "Groundramon are known to be very destructive and reckless digimon. The fact that you can maintain your sanity and keep your friends best interest in mind proves that you're a shot above the rest. Always be mindful though or you'll lose yourself."
Kiya started searching through the stomach, trying to find the source of the voice but then it hit him. "Leviamon?! Damnit spit us out!"
Leviamon let out a deep chuckle, before finally replying a minute later. "I will. But only after I've repaid you by getting you to the east. You can remove that light barrier now, I've stopped my digestive acids from breaking you down. Belphemon tricked me into eating those Parasimon, figured I wouldn't be loyal to his cause without them."
"Wait...are you trying to tell me that Belphemon treated you like some kind of lab rat? But you're both demon lords. How is one above the other?" Kiya tried to make sense of it, then watched as the digestive acids started draining from the stomach, leaving him in a bare, fleshy envorinment and free to revert into his Dracomon body.
"Believe me, there are factions even among the seven of us. I initially supported Belphemon's cause to bring the Darkness to power. But now...after regaining my sense of self, I want nothing more than to help wipe that smug ass off his throne." Leviamon boomed out, anger in his voice.
Kiya nodded in understanding, he looked at their ship and sighed in dissapointment. How were they ever going to complete their task, and that's when it hit him! "If you want to beat the crap out of Belphemon and help us stomp out the Darkness...Why not come with us. With the lord of the seas it should be simple to finish our quest and challenge Belphemon."
"Oh you mean your quest to meet the four high lords of the digital world?" Leviamon remained quiet several minutes after, giving it some thought before he finally replied. "I suppose without your ship it wouldn't be easy getting to the final two. And if you two don't finish this journey we won't be able to stop the Darkness from spreading. Well look at that you convinced me! I'm the demon lord I should be the one tempting YOU!"
Kiya couldn't help but laugh, checking on Scavenger's injuries within his digivice and looked relived when nothing looked irreparably damaged. "I can be pursuasive when I need to be. My friend...took a chance in bringing us in here. And for a moment I doubted his judgement, but I know better now. Scav doesn't do anything without thinking about the consequences and he found our chances to be better in here than out there in the water."
"Well he'd be right then. It's no grand fate to drown in a raging storm. He took a dangerous risk having you fly inside me but his judgement was spot on. Now hold on, we'll be at the east in 30 minutes tops. Your little ship was doggy paddling compared to the swimming strength of the demon lord of the sea!"
