Shortly after the supernatural hurricane named Metrystal tore through southeast United States, literally changing the lives of millions, FEMA implemented a plan to temporarily house and feed those who had been displaced and transformed by the mysterious properties of Metrystal's rain. Aid centers and refugee camps were set up as far as Hollister, Idaho.

When a Metrystite, (Someone transformed by the hurricane), applies to go to one of the refugee camps, the must thoroughly wash to rid themselves of any water from the hurricane, as it is highly contagious. afterwards they are quarantined for 36 hours and any possessions they carry are disinfected. the Afflicted are allowed a limited amount of belongings after they are carefully searched for contraband such as Drugs or Weapons

a database was created to aid in the reuniting of families and friends, relying on little more than names and birth dates. The database helps to plan where each Metrystite should be housed. the refugees are then transported via aircraft to the many aid centers and refugee camps dotting the United States.

At the aid Centers, donated and salvaged mattresses that have been disinfected serve as beds. each individual is assigned a bed, but when there is a shortage of beds, up to three refugees may have to share, depending on their size. since background checks are no longer possible, the perimeter of each aid center is heavily guarded 24/7 to ensure the safety of the surrounding populace. It is quite disconcerting to the refugees but unfortunately necessary.

Feeding relies on donations from around the country and specialists are hired to help match each "species" of Metrystite with the diet they require.
