my destop is staying 7, how ever my laptop was 8.1 hated it >.< 8 was even worse. 10? well its a real beef cake of an OS. my laptop was built to run 8.1. it can run 10 but.. not without it dropping basic needful things like opening lid to the laptop and it waking up. it fails to recover from that. power management program fails to start. the ringer. laptop never shuts down. OS stops but laptop it self stays on
lights, fan, core. all running. other people say they are not having problem. so maybe its just my model thats just having problems

Ooooh. Gotcha.. That would be a concern for me.. It seems like every version of Windows that comes along needs more memory..
Yeah, it sounds like 10 royally screwed with your laptop, or maybe it did not install correctly.
From what I understand, 10 is an "upgrade" or "add on" to what your current operating system is. I wonder if you were to install it "clean" if that would fix it.
Can you restore back to 8.1?
The only other thing I can think of is if there's a computer geek near you that could fix it..
