Hiroshi isn't the kind'a kid that likes confrontation, but he will stand up against bullying and help his friends.

Hiroshi smiled and turned in his Algebra homework then turned about. He had heard a mewl that he was sure was not suppose to be heard by anyone. There sitting middle of the class was Winifred Lyles. The willowy siamese had completely disheveled hair that really didn't fit with the prim and neat cheer outfit she wore and Hiroshi knew she had been running her paws through it in frustration. Winn was not the best of math students but she had taken the advanced placement course to satisfy her demanding mother.
He walked up to her desk quietly. "Hey Winn," he said softly and she started. He was always surprised by the fact that people found him so quiet when he moved. "You doing ok?"
"Sure… I'm fine really," she tried putting on a smile but it just didn't work. Winifred hated asking for help. He wished she would break down from time to time but he could understand. Still she did look like she could use a friend.
He smiled gently at her. "Y needs to be isolated," he whispered. She looked at him sharply, "I had the same problem when I first started this problem set, can I show you?"
He could see she was about ready to say no. Winn wanted to stand on her own and he wouldn't push. Then she looked up at the teacher, then towards a couple of her fellow cheerleaders who were smiling like they knew something. They were part of Melissa Lewis's group so he tried hard to stay away from them anyway. There was also two boys, a massive bear and a lean cheetah in football jersies who smirked and looked rather happy at her miserable state. She gave another mewl. "How?" she asked in desperation.
Hiroshi smiled and whispered the steps to take. Math was one of his better subjects and Dad always said if his time as a dancer didn't work out he could always fall back and become a mathematician.
Once Hiroshi had pointed out the steps Winifred looked shocked. "It's that simple? It can't be. This is algebra, it's suppose to be hard!"
Hiroshi smiled gently at her. "The worst is when the instructions don't make clear what you have to do," he wasn't going to tell her that it took him all of a minute to figure out what was giving him some problems. That would have been horrible of him.
Willow smiled and as he stood the teacher gave a discreet nod to him. She had been busy with others and Hiroshi had made sure Winn, who really did hate complaining or asking for help had not failed.
Unfortunately that of course had other consequences. Hiroshi collected his books and made for his locker. It was a short trip and he spent a few moments rearranging things to make ready for the next class change, that one he'd have to rush from one end of the school to the other and it was best if he had all his supplies right on top to grab quickly. He smiled at the picture of Nari, in all things a kimono Kaname and Kaori had gotten her to wear on a bet, and then closed the door to see a certain bear sneering down at him.
"Well if it isn't the little Prancing Fairy." He announced and his cronies, a rather handsome husky and the cheetah from class snickered.
Like that wasn't getting old, Hiroshi thought with a sigh. He knew where this was going, Winnifred was within earshot, her class schedule similar to his. He wasn't the real target he bet, she was. "What is it Franklin?" His tone made it clear he really wasn't impressed with the bear's attempts at making him seem less 'manly.'
"I don't get how you can embarrass your dad so badly Fa…" the bear choked a bit when a few looked up. Franklin Grimm wasn't exactly popular in school but he was well liked enough for a few people to turn a blind eye when he got into his Sophy Kicking mode. Forgetting the fact that he himself was a sophomore too. Strange how being a football star made you forget those things. Cursing was one thing that those that were a little afraid of him might report back to a teacher. Private Schools had their uses, the leaner shorter canine mix thought as the bear continued on. "....airy. Big manly jock of a guy, played football for us and everything! Everyone remembers the year his team lead our school to State Finals."
Kind'a hard not to, Hiroshi thought. Dad's picture was in the gym with every single other member of that team. Dad had been one of the guys that ran the ball, offensive something. He didn't really care. And that was what Franklin never seemed to grasp, his Dad didn't care if he wasn't into sports either. Dad understood all the hard work it took to be a good dancer and was proud of him. Dad also had told him several of his own teammates had been dancers too; well, had taken a few lessons to help them with their balance but still. For some reason Franklin's image of Hiroshi's father was some beer swilling cigar chomping rambo caricature and always tried to rub it in Hiroshi's muzzle. It couldn't be further from the truth. The father Hiroshi knew adored Hiroshi's mothers, let his sister's paint his nails even now, and even had played fashion model for Kaname and Kaori a few times.
The bear kept going though. "Bet you had fun though, Whiny Winny really needed your help. Donno why you bothered, you're a fairy so you don't like women."
Winfred mewled from where she stood. "Franklin stop."
"Aw shut up Whiny Winny no one cares what you think anyways."
Hiroshi really hated confrontation. Normally he'd just sidestep this whole thing but he was his father's son too. He'd rather be the target than Winn "You know, you can pick on me all you want Franklin but leave Winn out'a this. Its between you and me."
"Well the little fairy has a spine after all," the bear cracked his neck. Was he really going to be so stupid as to…
"Franklin, this really isn't a good idea do you think?" Hiroshi said in a bit of surprise but he did keep his voice gentle. The bear probably topped him by a good five inches but he moved clumsily as he stepped back. "Right here in the middle of school, in the middle of class change?"
"What are you talking about," the bear smiled nastily. "No one here but Whiny Winny and she'll never say anything. Not if she wants to stay on the cheerleading squad."
Hiroshi blinked at that. "What are you talking about?" His older sisters were captains of that squad. They would never have stood for kicking her off the team. And as to that how would Franklin get her kicked off?
"See if she speaks up Lukas' girl over there," he nodded to the handsome collie who had a smile that rather marred his looks, "Is gonna tell the coach how Whiny Winny tried to cheat off her in Algebra, and then when Irene said no, Bobby," that was the cheetah Hiroshi knew, "is gonna come forward and say she got desperate and offered her… services if he let her cheat off him."
"No ones going to believe that," Hiroshi said mildly. There were witnesses about, several students had to have just heard him blab the entire plan away. Plus Irene Sampson was not exactly the brightest girl in school. "Look all these people just heard you say that." Maybe if he pointed out the other witnesses he would think for a few minutes. That would be enough for him to get Winefred and himself away without an incident.
"What? them? They'll believe what we tell'em to believe, we're football stars after all."
Hiroshi blinked. "You really are that stupid?"
He wanted to kick himself for saying that after it left his mouth. The whole idiocy of the plan just struck him senseless and his mouth opened before his brain caught up. He had acted more like his big brothers than his normal self. And that meant there would be a confrontation.
Franklin's muzzle twisted in anger. "That's it faggot," he snarled not caring if anyone heard him now. "You're gonna get that faggot muzzle of yours bashed in. No brothers to save you here."
The bear's fist drew back and Hiroshi saw exactly what was going to happen. He hated fighting and it had only been at his older brother's insistence that he even learned how to properly throw a punch. Mamma Dana hadn't been too happy when she'd heard about that. Still he'd never had to use the skill because dad had told him his best weapon in any fight was his brain and encouraged him to use that first.
Hiroshi saw the big beefy fist move down. It would have hurt if it had connected, the collie/spitz hybrid knew that much. But he never let it connect. Hiroshi might be slightly built compared to the massive bear but where the bear how power to spare, he didn't really know how to use it. Hiroshi, who had been training in ballet and other sorts of dances since he was five years old, knew exactly where his body was and what it could do.
Instead of trying to block the punch Hiroshi simply stepped out of the way. One moment he was right in front of Franklin, the next he was standing to the side. Dad would have been proud, he'd even used some of Franklin's own momentum to roll out of the way. Instead of connecting with Hiroshi's collie muzzle the bear found something much harder, the sheet steel door of Hiroshi's locker.
Hiroshi winced as the loud 'Bang!!!!!' echoed easily down the corridor drawing a lot of attention. Several doors to classrooms opened and a couple teachers rushed out. Franklin wasn't paying any attention to that as he screamed in pain grabbing his wrist. Hiroshi blinked looked back at his locker which now had a franklin's fist-sized dent in it about a third of an inch deep in the fairly thick sheet steel door. Hiroshi was rather surprised at that and turned back to the bear who was now on his knees whimpering holding his wrist in obvious pain.
Hiroshi's ears went back he hadn't intended that to happen. He rushed up to the nearest teacher and told him that Franklin had punched his locker. The teacher, one of the math staff gave Hiroshi then Franklin a sharp look then went to tend to the bear getting him on his feet and walking him to the infirmary. Hiroshi sighed. Not the ending to the confrontation that he wanted.
"Nice job ototto,," a familiar male voice announced and Hiroshi blinked looking up to see two fairly lean, tall canines with gray bluish black and white markings each with one blue eye and one brown smirking at him from a few feet away.
Hiroshi kept his ears back. "Wasn't how I wanted it to end Tim."
The slightly shorter of the two older boys whose football jersey bore a '32' on its shoulder shrugged. "Franklin was looking for trouble. I don't think there is a way you could have gotten out of it any better."
"Yeah," the taller with 18 on his jersey's shoulder agreed. He was less enthusiastic sounding than Tim. Robbie tried at times to temper the more energetic Tim from going to head first into a problem. "He wanted you to provoke him, he wanted an excuse to bash your head in. Heard his whole plan too. You're right, it was an idiotic plan, we came up with better plans to break out of our crib when we were two. He just wanted an excuse to pound someone."
Hiroshi flushed. "Yeah, but now I bet his hands got some broken bones in it. You guys have a game tonight. Isn't he like, one of the star players or something? One of your starting pushers?"
Hiroshi saw Robbie try very hard not to roll his eyes. They had given up a long time ago trying to teach their little brother anything about football or soccer. After all he just didn't have time, the two older brothers had come to realize. "So what," Tim responded. "Franklin's never quite gotten the fact that he's not first string. The only reason he's been starting this year is because we've been trying to teach a couple of the freshman the plays better. Tonight's as good a night as any to put them in his place."
"Maybe try talking to coach and have him try out a new receiver in Lukas' place too," Robbie said but then shrugged. "Anyway, don't worry about it," he smiled. "You took care of him in your own way. But you're gonna have to tell the school what happened." Hiroshi winced and Robbie blinked. "What's wrong, you're going to get off scott free, especially when everyone says Franklin was verbal with you."
"Yeah, but you know their going to call mums." Hiroshi responded. Both the older boys winced. Hiroshi was closest with their mothers and Mother Dana could be... direct in dealing with problems.
"Well..." Tim began in a philosophical tone that couldn't hide his glee at not being the center of attention for a goofy plan that went wrong. "I'm kind'a glad it's not us for once..."
