Anybody who has seen Detective Conan knows that the main use for fishing string is setting up complicated traps for murdering people. But it has other uses too. I got the idea when a model complained about having to hold the tail lifted for too long - let's use a string to hold it lifted! Fishing string is discreet enough that you can ignore it while painting. But I ended up painting it anyway here because I still love showing the tricks of the trade. (There is also a small tissue pad so the string won't bruise the skin, but that's hidden by the tail's fur.)

Well I can tell from the life drawing classes I've attended that even the most relaxed pose is very hard to keep for more than 20 minutes straight. It's just unnatural for the muscles to stay completely still. (This picture is actually based on a sketch I made of a live model in one of such classes.)
