Sketching out the idea for Zrrivkmo’s pet. I think I’m going to call this species “Mrrák”. And maybe Zrrivkmo’s one is named “Luk” and it’s an android one, not a living Mrrák.

The adult Mrrák rounds the 2-3m in length, while some individuals have grown up to 5m in captivity. They have a low metabolism, eating little and curling up in warm areas for long periods of time. They can survive well on wet environments, but prefer to live on dry land.

They have 2 sensitive whiskers hidden in their mouths which function as baroreceptors and perceive electromagnetic fields, besides bringing air molecules to small organs on the bottom sides of their mouths to detect scent. The upper sides of their mouths have heat detecting organs. Mrráks hear through internal ears and do so not very well. They are blind.

To feed, Mrráks inject toxins through the sting-like appendages in their mouths, dissolving the insides of their prey. They then suck said insides through a proboscis, the whole process being reminiscent of a spider’s.

Mrráks are parasites that lay the eggs through an orifice of a large animal while it sleeps. The young kill and eat their host shortly after hatching.

Like many creatures in Nallassa, Mrráks only produce one type of gametes, there being no sexes in the species. They usually reproduce sexually. However, in certain circumstances, hormonal changes allow them to reproduce asexually while producing genetically “diverse” spawn (or as diverse as it can get by combining only one specimen’s gametes).
