Hooooo...... it's been quite a while since I posted anything last, hasn't it?
My animation teaching classes got rescheduled to start next week, so I decided to do some learning for a change and make a work in the style of Yoshitaka Amano's works, of whom I deem to be an ENORMOUS influence in my own personal artistry
And you know, for the first time in a very long time, I felt a sense of nervousness and excitement, something I fear I've gone too long without. I IMPLORE other artistic folks to do the same, to take risks in their works. Believe me, you'll be glad you did!

Keane as drawn through the eyes of a man on crack.
Also that is not nearly flamboyant enough to be Amano.
Here are a few tips though.
1. DESATURATE THE SHIT out of your colors.
2. Add in random inconsequential bits and bobs to accentuate your outfit. Its way too plain. If you don't look like a court jester sneezed and wipped his fashion sense off on part of your wardrobe, its not Amano.
3. Get some patterns in there. I dont care of its checkers, polkadots, diamonds, whatever. He sneaks that stuff in all over the place.
IN LIEU of number three, go with
4. Add some crazy super accented trim to something. Like the cape or coat you have on.
5. Potentially it may help to change the color of the jacket or coat or whatever yiou're wearing so it contrasts more with your fur. Amano is contrast crazy. Sometimes in excess.
As for the actual art STYLE of it? You nailed it.
