Thought I should post an image of my campsite for the star party I attended in July. My entire camp was surrounded by over 360+ other astronomers (DAMN IT! I wanted privacy! -- hehehe).

Anyway, from front to back in this photo:

* My Celestron 8 Deluxe telescope (under the weather/sun sock). It's sitting on a 6x7 foot artificial lawn to make the work area a bit more comfortable.

* My 30 year old Eureka Wind River 6 dome tent. Total packed weight - tent - steaks - ropes was 40 pounds! I'm glad I take care of my camping gear. This tent's a blessing on long trips like this, because I can stand up inside it! It's sitting under an "EZ Up" for additional sun shading.

* Subaru Outback (behind the tent & just barely seen). My 2007 baby... still getting 30mpg.

With me, all the camping gear, telescope (~50 lbs.) popup shade (50 lbs), food, etc.... About 500 pounds that Subaru hauled in & out. The car's limit is 800 pounds.

Yeah.. I had fun!
