Yes, this is X-Men fan art. I remember going through a huge X-Men phase when I was younger, starting with the X-Men Evolution animated series then the movies. I've never read the comics or watched the 80s cartoon, so any further info I have came from either fans, Wikipedia and Linkara.
Anyway, I ship Wolverine and Jean Grey/Phoenix, as shown here.

Also, first attempts at drawing a wolverine, used a few photo references, didn't work out too well. Also, birds are hard.
