You should absolutely continue tinkering with this design as it's a lovely starting point ( And because more raccoons = better. May be wildly biased in this belief, but it still counts!)

love it! but the arm looks a little long

Think the left arm is extended out past the view presented. It's hard to see but I'm fairly certain the elbow joint is the on it, and the hand on his right shoulder is his right hand, based on the thumb position.

He is a cutie though!
