A well known fact about slimes is that they are attracted to the large sources of heat to keep themselves warm and animate. Unfortunately the best sources of heat are passing adventurers, especially those with a lots of extra insulating pudge. Slime do share some nutrients with carrier?
It would be a nice idea to make one immobile carrier and support him and this way the slime could live in comfort and breed for very long time inside. And while slime is inside the carrier, it can generate some relationship and slime could surround the carrier to mobilize him.
