So I am trying my hand in DUB and it is allot tougher than what it looks. First of all I didn't know that dub split off from Jungle and 2-step second dub splits again and again into Melodic Dub, Electro Dub and Hard DubStep X_X so much dub that I just started small. Get the sounds. Don't focus on washes or effects or builds to the drop just get the drop and try to make a good bass line.
So this is my attempt. Raw, Unpolished O_o so do I have a gem or a stool? I don't know.

when you make the Break the BPM should Drop Dramtically, as if to fall into space.
think slow motion matix.
also having a Variable beat helps immensly because you need to be able to " bring it back "
as far as synth Pads and Strings, you can use those to accent the Bass sweeps that would accompany your dark bass hits.
Pad: ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~(octave lower)waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~
Bass: Bum- da-da-da-da......whom-whom....

Yeah I have heard some really really bad there too and some really good too. O.o This was just a test to get the sound. All the fancy stuff will go in latter but I wanted the sound of the bass synths doing it's thing. Creating the rhythm and flow with all the dynamic XD ya I need to continue my studies on it and break in down. Because even though I let the rhythm take control. There is that je ne sais quoi that I can't put my finger on.
