Elim is now the first human to ever break into the females' chambers in the heart of a yinglet enclave and not be bleeding out of a hundred little holes within moments.
He may never know this.
Also, the Sovereignty of Beletam has some very strong views about desertion of duty, and applies that to enemy soldiers as well, to Kass and Elim's great misfortune.

Wow, it's really flattering to be held near the same regard as a webcomic veteran like Girl Genius! Thanks!
My motivation for drawing The OOPs really comes down to "I wanted to draw the kind of comic that I wanted to see myself," and it turns out that not only does that make it fun to work on, but I seem to be filling a bit of a niche, as well!

yay new page!
you tell em Kass!
also, that guard Yinglet is pretty verbose for a yinglet, he's gotta be like the guard captain i'm guessing, or whatever the yinglet equivalent is; i imagine the qualifications as:
1. have spear
2. know which end is which
3. haven't killed yourself yet

Does this mean those Yinglet gals are going to be looking to set him up with a human girl they adopted as an abandoned baby, cause that would be absolutely hilarious especially since I could imagine she works as a stripper since these guys have few skills that put them in demand.
Hey, good to know! And yes, Kass has been getting a lot of unwanted experience in being adorable over the last three days. And while I do have a full beginning-to-end plan for this group of characters, their plotlines reaching their end don't mean the whole story is over! I won't let this turn into a "goes on forever and loses its momentum" comic, but there is a huge amount of fun stuff that'll happen before the end!
That "end" being many years away, at this point.

Such ferocious little buggers. All while staying so adorable. It must be such an odd experience to be simultaneously in pain (from the many pokings with sharpened sticks) and oohing at how cute them yinglets are, Love the "It's like something from a storybook" remark from the one yinglet. Do yinglets have a lot of stories or do they get them from others? Do they believe whatever is in the books as true?
Loving your works with the yinglets and the little blurbs of information you put with each page. Really helps to flesh out the world and inform the audience. The yinglets are such a fascinating species, I am curious to their cultural and spiritual customs as well as wondering how yinglets would react to a full plate mail wearing knight as their little sticks simply bounce off the armor.

They do enjoy telling (mostly made-up) stories, although the combination of books being somewhat expensive or rare due to limited printing methods, and the fact that so few yinglets have any sort of a basic education, means that yinglets and reading typically don't mix.
Not to Pekkit though, who Vizlet taught to read at an early age, and is quite obsessed with books, and the information and tall tales therein.
And yes; since I spend a good 14 hours or so on each page, I've at least gotta spend a few minutes writing up something to accompany it!

Tis time well spent and it shows. World building is a hobby of mine and I enjoy seeing others take the time to create such vibrant worlds of their own. Currently I am in the process of fleshing out a world for future stories and populating it with a various creatures. Your Yinglets with their uniqueness have become a favorite species of mine right alongside with Trancy Mick's Sergals. Something about the little ratburds has endeared them and I would quite like to include them in the setting's cast of creatures I am working on. So I was wondering if my doing so would okay with you that I make use of them?
Haha, sure! If I ever somehow turn them into a big moneymaking enterprise I might develop stronger feelings about intellectual property, but otherwise, I just love seeing the sorts of ideas people come up with about these little jerks.
All I ask is a little "Yinglets are by That Guy" in the under-text, and preferably sending me a shout or link to whatever you're making, because I don't want to miss out on it!
edit: Also, as someone who was really inspired by Mick39's work (although since I am a bird fanatic it was the nevreans that caught my attention) before I even started drawing, It's an honor to hear that someone holds my work in similar regards! I've definitely still got a lot of development to do in the composition category (which may never happen because I focus on comic expressiveness and quick multi-panel drawing rather than single art pieces) before I'm anywhere near her level, but my style is at least well-suited for the story I'm telling, which keeps me all happy and motivated.

Great Update!
And so Kassie saves Elim and Elim might never know it. Personally I don't think Kassie should mention the whole I used to be human thing to the general public thats how you get declared a dangerous nut. But then again Yinglets can't afford to let even a single female go because of there unique biology.
Which reminds me the one comic ark I am really looking forward to is when the Vizlet finally tells Kassie the female Yinglets sacred duty that not even the Matriarch is excused from. And by that I mean giving birth to the next generation.
I cannot wait to see how she reacts t that, I cannot even picture her face to that revelation. I also look forward to see how or if she can weasel out of it. Or even if Viracroix or Vizlet forces her to go on with it. However you deal with it I am looking forward to the start of that story ark.

I just wanted to mention somthing I just noticed but am not sure how to bring up. So I'll just say it.
You mentioned earlier in comic #17 that Yinglet births are smilier to the chickens or platypus. The thing is I have noticed that the Yinglet females have belly buttons, and animals who hatch from eggs do not have belly buttons, not even the platypus. Also Animals who lay eggs also don't have mammary glands Like at least Kassie has.
So do the males hatch from eggs and the females get birthed. Or is the process of Yinglet birth similar in some regards to laying eggs but in others completely different. Or will I just find out with the rest when we get there.
And for that mater I'm just going to ask it, I know some may find it weird but I'll ask it.
Do the other females have breasts as well. Or is it just Kassie's Yinglet mutation, after all I did not see any on Lippie. And if they all have them how much do there males value theme, And does Kassie have a decent bust size by Yinglet standards.

Oh man oh man you don't know how anxious I am to reveal their weird little reproduction process. All I can say for now is that all your observations are indeed correct, despite the apparent biological conflicts!
And yes, most all females do have noticeable breasts, although Kass' are about as large as they ever get.

Hahaha... Kass pointing with that face makes me feel like she's about to let out the Body Snatchers scream

Because a large portion of the human population does that as well, but much more effectively!
It's like complaining that a local race/species has those among them who steal and generally cause trouble... while there's several other, far larger racial/species populations that are already doing exactly that.
And you can't grab those thieves by the legs and hurl them over a building.

It's adorably difficult to take these things seriously with their distorted "th"s

There is something comedic and off-putting about this page.
Comedic in the sense of Zally frantically slapping a yinglet guard to, "Get it away! Get it away!"
It's off-putting in the sense of something going from, dare I say the word, cute (I've been avoiding using the word up until now. As stated countless times on every single page, the yinglets are in no doubt cute through their look, their mannerisms, and speech. I guess I was too manly to admit it, but even I can't deny it.) to aggressive and resentful can be hurtful emotionally.
For example, sometimes I like to pet my cat. It's a nice feeling to caress her fur and listen to her purr, but cats can be picky about being petted. When they have had enough, they have had enough! So suddenly, my cat will get irritated and will attempt to swat at and scratch me. In a way, I feel betrayed. I'm feeling like, "Hey? You're supposed to be fluffy, cuddly, and sweet, so don't get pissy with me."
So as you can see, when I see the yinglets get all angry at Elim (which, as a human, I can relate), it reminds me: yeah, yinglets are not always the adorable, innocent, little buggers they appear to be.

That's an important realization, yeah! These little things are akin to goblins and kobolds and the like, but in a setting where everyone's not 100% at war with other species all the time.
Doesn't mean that people don't get robbed, attacked or killed by groups of them though! Just that the most common experience is that you'll just be severely annoyed by them.
