Lovac's Casino and Club Part Three (Art by Immelmann)
By the time the club has kicked up proper. The DJ gets a signal from his supervisor that it's time to intensify the beat and help the newcomers feel right at home.
The process is slow, allowing time for the music to kick into gear. the visors begin to project lights along the walls. lines across the sky for them to stare. the respective lights and patterns are for the wearer alone. the music picks up a little, swelling to eventually drop that beat. their minds numb over. their bodies want to focus on the dance. by the effect of the visor and the small nano constructors that were ingested from the free drinks they had earlier. their bodies adapt to better suit the club. synced with the visors. they match in color. letting the neon glow, letting it take them. Letting their clothes melt and reweave into bright, gaudy patterns that provide the camouflage they need to blend into the club. They're not sure how they should feel. It's warm, intense, right. but on some level the visors are making them nauseous. maybe they need to get off the floor before the bass drops. maybe to step away just in time to get their mind off it.
The beat drops, and suddenly no one can remember why they ever wanted to stop.

Music hypnosis has always been a favorite theme of mine. Something about the rhythm of particular beats reminds me of the pied piper or the curse of the dancing shoes that make me smile. Perhaps it has to do with our fixation to tribal percussion. something to shake the thought out of us and compel us to synchronize in the ingenuous joy of dance. It's why raves can be so appealing. what better place to let thoughts and individuality vibrate away, than in a neon room where all you care about is the pressure a fellow body gives when it grinds against you?
As for a song that would fit that 'intensification of dance'... Perhaps this will inspire:
