I painted this in early January of 2006 while on vacation. It was done on canvas with latex paints and special textures. It's hard to see in the photograph but this piece has some very detailed elements of lightning, stars, and the clouds are actually the foremost item in the painting. The focal point of the piece are the cat-like eyes that are meant to represent Mother Nature looking on the humanrace and what it has done to Earth. Other elements are various items found in nature- vines on the poles that are on the sides of the painting; a sky at sunset; a symbolic Sun; a symbolic Moon; a night sky with stars; lightning; and clouds.
This piece means a lot to me and was an original design by me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This is most inspiring to me, for I believe I also share your reverence for Mother Earth.
I feel as if more people took the time as you have done with the construction of this most impressive piece of self expression to give or show respect for it, than we wouldn't be in as much trouble as we are today, simply because more people would be aware of how lucky we are to have it and less likely to take it for granted and abuse it (often unconsciously) for their own short sighted gains.
I love the texture of the surface and the paint, as well as the bright colors and symbolic imagery. Though because of nature of this type of work I do imagine its much better to see it in person. Impressive nonetheless.
