Even though there have been such disastrous events in the past, such as the war between the Xinarans and the synthetic Zah'ni, the Xinarans do make use of Artificial intelligences in many of their advances. They follow one basic rule. Don't create life in your own form. Give it something new to explore.

From the sentient AI that brings their ships to life, to the basic drones, their AI runs the gamut. Here is an example of a more sentinel style drone. It is not self aware and designed to run basic defensive tasks, but can easily be repurposed and altered to function as construction or repair tasks would dictate.
