A month later, s/he's had a couple molts since, but is still only about the size of a thumb nail. S/he didn't eat that cricket, though it was a pinhead it was still a bit too large. She recently ate a much smaller one :)
Honduran Curly Hair tarantulas (brachypelma albopilosa) are native to Costa Rica and Honduras and they are apparently known for their voracious appetite. They can be very docile or quite skittish, depending on the spider. They're known for their adult appearance being a brownish color with many long, curly pink hairs all over their body and legs. They can reach a length of about 5" or more. They are known for having a bit more personality than the conventional starter tarantula, the Chilean Rose Tarantula, though there have been mixed reports of their personality and temperament from owner to owner.
