Another wonderful piece done by :iconQueenHyena that depicts how To-Yoh isn't in agreement on how Caleb feels for Teela. Such a great amount of details are present. And, I can't thank her enough for the dedication. The original piece can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17439890/
This is another part of the Plight of the Rose novel, which continues on from a previous piece where Caleb first finds Teela. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16221975/

Afternoon #32: Intrusion!
Caleb shared Teela's body heat for quite some time as she softly blew into his right earlobe. He could feel every time she breathed in as she quite literally pinned him from neck to tail. He wasn't sure just why he was loving it. He only recognized how good it felt and wound up submitting so deeply that the reality of everything else just slipped away.
The game came and went without him and all he could do was fall into a light sleep, dreaming of nothing but her. The softness of her pelt as they bumped into each other out in an open field.
His senses were pushed too far from reality to recognize when Teela's head shot up away from his muzzle and looked towards the open door. In a flash, she sprang from the bed to the floor while leaving the sleepy Caleb in a very revealing position.
Her tail was waggling about as she through the door frame upon the adult that began to cast a shadow over Teela.
"Good. You are awake." said To-Yoh as she brushed a bit of gathered dust from her village robes. "Did my little Teela get a good nap in while I was away?"
Teela didn't verbally answer. Only her love filled eyes held more then enough of a response as she tracked her mother's approach.
"Is baby hungry? Is my little Tee-Tee ready for her din-din?" gently asked To-Yoh as she proceeded to step around Teela to enter her residence.
Teela stayed on all fours as she watched her mother with intent.
"Well, come on, then. Let's ge..."
Her words trailed off as she laid eyes on the very strange and proud male that had made himself way too comfortable upon Teela's bed.
Caleb swayed his fore paws about in the air, trying to find Teela while his eyes remained closed and his brain was concentrating on the dream as To-Yoh tiptoed in and over to the section of the wall where the cleaning broom was standing up against.
Teela walked with her mother, slightly whimpering without understanding the actions a whole lot as her mother gripped the handle in both hand paws and raised the bristly part up over her head.
Caleb's induced slumber was brought to an abrupt end as those bristles were laid like a thousand tree twigs into his belly and the broomstick landed with force against his unprotected maleness, causing his very flesh to ripple outwards in either direction.
"You filthy beast!" she wailed as she tried to heave the broom back up for a second swatting.
Caleb's eyes shot wide open as his hind legs sprang shut. His heart didn't know if it should suddenly beat rapidly out of fear or pain. Half blinded from the sudden awakening, he tried to roll over and find his footing.
*Whack*
The broom's flexible portion found it's way across his side, where the fibers could deliver quite a few stings.
Hitting the floor with a clumsy thud, Caleb high tailed it towards the brightest spot in the room with all claws digging into the ground.
Not before To-Yoh was able to deliver another swift blow across his rump. "Get out, mongrel!"
Yelping as he sped out into the sunlight, Caleb knew not where else to retreat to as he let the pain drive him away from the source.
To-Yoh dashed right after him, waving that broom about and just yelling a slur of obscenities.
This eruption of panicked voices was quick to involve the attention of a nun, just coming back from the fields to prepare the church for evening ceremonies.
"...beast! What were you intending with my daughter!?! You'd better..."
The nun dashed on an intercept course. "My ferocious lady! What so ever seems to be the matter?!?"
"It's this...this beast!!! I found him so casually terrorizing my baby! Nab him! Punish him for all his sins! This, I demand!" screamed To-Yoh, still not giving up her attacking position upon the dashing pup.
"It is most unbecoming to just outright threaten exclusive kits, Lady Rose! Calm yourself and let us question the accused lad about his crimes, first. Let the church have say in what acts require what actions. Now, please explain what had happened, rationally."
Teela just looked on from the shadows inside her mother's dwelling as the nun placed her hand paws upon To-Yoh's shoulders and the yelling was soon brought down to more socially appropriate levels. Meanwhile, Caleb gave no attention to either of them and proceeded to find safer ground before attending to any of the painful stinging sensations.
"I came in to check up on my little miracle gem after a hard day of tending crops to find her terrified and that mongrel stretching himself across her bed, harassing her without an ounce of respect. Why, if I hadn't come directly home, who knows how much further things might have carried on. She's so shy and innocent, as it is..."
"The wisest view is the one not obstructed, Miss Rose." said the nun, quoting from some piece of ancient wisdom and looked over her shoulder at the retreating youth. "That would appear to be one of the Sirius Clan's boys. Let the church gather the other half of this story in a far calmer environment. The child may be far too spooked to be of much use, for now. This evening's ceremonies may be a far more appropriate venue."
Leaning on her broomstick for a few seconds, To-Yoh began to nod her head in agreement. "I...may have been too..."
"It's quite alright, my good Lady. If I ever thought one of my own kits was heading maw first into troubled waters, I would move Rock and Light alike to see safety reached them. Kits will be kits. There may be a far simpler explanation to the intrusion then has presented itself. Have Faith that the truth shall be brought forth into the Light."
All the while, Caleb slumped off to a private little nook to sulk while licking at his achy self for a bit.
The afternoon rolled onwards as it tends to do and all the kits were brought in for their evening routines.
The washing, feeding, preaching and teaching portions were all performed before Caleb was pulled aside in a tender way.
"Caleb." gently spoke the nun while caressing his cheek. "Remember what you were doing, earlier this day?"
Caleb's head just sank and she coaxed him from looking away from her face for too long.
"I am not here to scold you for your actions, gentle Caleb. You really did bustle up Misses Rose and I gave her a promise to understand why. Can you explain why this afternoon happened like it did?"
Even though Caleb wasn't further shying away, she could see the fear in the male's eyes. So, she knelt down to avoid looking so overbearing.
"You are safe, here. We shall offer you protection. An explanation is required, however, for this protective service."
"It...was only a game." he whispered after a bit of extra coaxing. "I know that I was not suppose to enter. It was my intent to escape, once I was out of tagging range. I swear on my beating heart, ma'am."
"Yet, you did not. Care to explain why you lingered around to be discovered?"
"Because...I saw...an angel."
"According to Misses Rose, you were only there with her daughter. Is that whom you are considering to be..."
Caleb nodded in agreement.
"I see. And, your intentions with your angel?"
"I...knew that she was hiding and...at the time...I wanted help. Only to realize that I wanted to help her."
"You chose to move in over your intentions to depart."
"I wished to deliver her into the outdoors...where all kits belong, ma'am."
"Which means you had no intentions on terrorizing her, like her mother insists you were doing."
"Never, ma'am. My heart was pure in desiring to help her."
The nun stared into Caleb's sorrowful eyes. "My noble Caleb. I was there when you emerged from the Darkness and into my vision, along with your brothers and sisters on your delivery day. I took honor in witnessing your life's reading. I know you to have a strong, protective heart and I shall stand by you in your defense against this misunderstanding. I bear your feeling towards the Clan Rose's sole child. It is unhealthy to hide away, even if she is something extra special. We must make her mother understand. The sooner, the better."
However, when it came time that evening to get through to To-Yoh, she proved to be a bit less then willing to immediately understand.
"No! No! No! No! Absolutely no!" yelled To-Yoh at the top of her lungs. "No way am I going to allow that beast to have anything to do with my Teela!"
Other members of the village were all looking over at the entrance to the divided room, once To-Yoh was easily overpowering the evening's seminar.
"He's quite sincere in his intentions, Miss Rose. Now, please try not to yell about this and listen for a moment, if you please." The nun was still remaining rather softly spoken, knowing that to yell back would only inflame her anger.
"She can't possibly begin to understand the intentions of a...of a male, as it is! My little darling is far too special to be exposed to...to...to..."
"Into the world of the Light, Miss Rose? You mean to tell me that your Teela is meant to live in the shadows under your choice of rights? Is that what you are saying?"
"Yes!!!" further screamed To-Yoh. "She is terrified of this world! She could never survive! She must remain protected from everything! Especially the intentions of a mongrel such as that beast that was threatening her!"
"Can you not find it in your heart to open up and at least give us a..."
"No! No! A million times, no!!!"
By now, the doorway was crowded with faces from the village, whom had stopped listening to the instructions by the other nun about trying to ignore the outbursts.
For all their efforts, the combined lectures from the nuns could do little to calm down To-Yoh as proceeding with anything else but her grievances had proven futile.
