I think it's awesome!
Simplicity is better sometimes, it looks really nice, and everything's easy to find, I feel a pattern might clutter it since there's not much space, but that also depends on the viewer's screen resolution.
But I am in no way a layout designer and I'd probably pay someone to do it for me, so I can't speak much haha.

Honestly? Simple is best and as long as it displays your artwork to its fullest that's all you really need to worry about. It looks like everything will be easy to find, easy to get to links, a visual sign that you're open or closed to commissions... I think it looks awesome the way you have it. The best way to find it for sure will be when you get the site up and actually navigate it. Should any issues be present you'll find them. Visually though it looks fine hun, you did an awesome job.
Sorry that was kinda long, a similar topic came up recently as my cousin-in-law is setting his own site up. Damn good craftsman that one. But just make sure everything is easy to find, it isn't too cluttered visually when you display artwork, and that any info you put up is easy to understand so there are no issues when people commission you and you should have a kick ass site. Also, I hope this didn't sound condescending or like I'm horribly stating the obvious.
Good luck with your site hun and I hope you're doing alright.
