Finally, finally after more near-death experiences than her entire career before this mission combined - and at the hands of overgrown lizards no less! - the operative had found her target; the scientist behind this whole mess.
It was supposed to have been a simple recon and rescue operation. Locate the facility. Rendezvous with their inside agent. Discover the reason to the communications blackout.
And finally ‘rescue’ the good doctor.
But no. While the first three objectives were quickly accomplished, finding the good doctor proved far more difficult.
It was almost as if he wanted to remain hidden, much to the operative’s immense frustration, and continue with whatever mad experiments he had devised.
She finally found him in a previously locked laboratory.
After hours upon hours of running back and forth, digging through stacks of papers for whatever tiny clue fate has deigned to give her, recovering the paired passkeys for the ridiculous security system meeting her at every turn, just so she could advance a few more steps into the facility.
And all the while evading the seemingly endless stream of prehistoric reptiles, all dead set on digging their claws and fangs into her.
Why, she had half a mind of just plugging him right then and there.
With tranquilizer of course, she still needed him alive after all.
