Nifty gadgets! For a month-ish I was doing tech support on iPhones; tempted to get one myself until I started taking calls. But seriously, they're nifty. What really stopped me from getting one is everything you have to get to go with it; XP, Vista or Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, iTunes Store account, you should see the lousy plans Rogers imposes on iPhones users up here, plus a credit card to pay for it all! But they really are nifty! And unlike an iPod Touch, they come with GPS! Just for the lovagod, DON'T EVER DROP IT!
I'm fortunate, I guess- My '01 "Lampshade" iMac (nought in January '07 for all of $400) is using OSX 10.4.11 (I'm hesitant to go to 10.5 at this time), so my OS connection's fine. I've got iTunes- It did require me to set up an account, but so far everything I've "bought" in the App Store has been....free. :) Yes, there are a few non-free items I'm looking into. :) I wanted the iPod touch rather than the iPhone, because, well... I already had a halfway-decent clamshell-type phone I'm happy with, and i'm more comfortable with clamshell phones. :)
All I really needed was a set of speakers (A set from Cyber Acoustics is REALLY good for $30, and the size vs. sound is, well, astonishing!) and a hard-shell slide-on cover made byt Griffin I found at a local dollar store- I already had a pair of Sennheiser PX100s to replace the earbuds- and I was happy. :) Makes a great internet radio boombox with the speakers. :)
And as anyone can tell you about working tech support, you do NOT get a balance between the good and bad in anything- People call when they have problems, oftentimes too stupid to figure it out for themselves. :)
Anyhoo, yes, I'm enjoying my iPod touch- Was my birthday present to me last month. :)

Haha, awesome. But really, you know, someday we will take over.
Reminded me of this series: http://mouseknight.rmca.org/ which, coincidentally, finally finished this month

You keep trying, Dubyah'll keep on nukin'. Actually, good luck, you couldn't possibly do worse than we humans have. (Huh! "We humans," says the otter.)
I'd honestly never heard of that series before. I take it the series are nothing like Brian Jaques's Redwall stories, since the site says "not for children."

Honestly, I thought it was all fun and games until I got to the last paragraph. It just gave the entire story this somewhat serious, contemplative tone that really made me sit and think for a while. Your stuff is always imaginative, man, and reading this definitely gave my creative energies a little boost for a few things that need finishing. Great little story! It shows that your mind is always going on something, even when you're jotting down stuff to pass the time. ^_^
Thanks, Papi. Yeah, life is a contemplation when you're bored. Snuck that one in under the radar, eh? I hope you enjoyed the story, even with the sad ending. But you know, I have to credit Rob Swayer for coming up with the idea of talking gerbils in the first place. (That guy is a writer's writer, his stuff is just incredible!)
I enjoyed it immensely, man. Definitely glad I took the few minutes to do so. ^_^ *makes a note to check out Rob Sawyer* I swear, I haven't read a good book in AGES. Best I got is a few chapters into Che Guevara's biography and halfway through Don Quixote.
But alas, enough recollecting on my lack of literary prowess, it's like 3 AM and I gotta get my ass to bed, lol X3
