Underpainting is finished! This is where I'm at now, and will probably take a break for a bit before starting on the colors. It's been about a week of work so far, not counting the planning sketches.
And yes, these animals all represent people who are part of, of friends of, the music studio. None of them are furries (at least as far as I know), but all of them love the painting so far, and I think it's gonna be a bit hit ^_^

So this is all the values for the colours? It's going to be awesome - it already is - and hopefully you're well paid for this work.
If the studio personnel aren't furies, they'll certainly be feeling positive about it. The reaction of "hey, that's me as a X! This is so cool!" is pretty much universal.

Awww...! I couldn't help but be reminded of Picasso's 1939 mural, "Guernica," but I like this image so much better because the theme is a little more light hearted. I especially like the ferrets and weasels using hula hoops, the "Miner" gopher and groundhog, and the somewhat "Stoned" looking skunk. Excellent work as always, and you've inspired me to try my hand at something in a larger scale. Your photos also helped me figure out how to get these large images scanned into a digital form so I can use Photoshop on them.
Looks fantastic! And thank you for the WIP pictures too, very interesting. I've been willing for a while to make a very large painting to put on top of my bed and this could give some ideas about handling the process. May I ask which model of projector you used to transfer the picture? Given the large size of the scene it seems to be a very precise one.
Thank you! I look forward to seeing what you come up with :D The projector I use is this one, it's not great but it's cheap and reliable. I broke this piece into three sections to transfer the sketch, but it was still super blurry because the projector isn't really designed to do stuff that big. I find it gets blurry if I try to do anything bigger than about 3x4'. But since I'm generally just using it to transfer a rough sketch (making sure proportions are all correct, which otherwise would be a nightmare in something this big), having it be a bit blurry isn't a big problem.
