The ground started rumbling in the small prehistoric village. At first the quakes were small, causing the cavemen dwelling inside the fortified enclosure to suspect a buffalo stampede. As they clambered to the lookout points in the village however, the sights they witnessed were far, far worse.
A group of three extremely large predators appeared over the horizon, each of them towering over the nearby mountains, easily capable of flattening their entire village under a single foot paw. Nothing would stop this group of three gigantic cavefurs; no mountain nor canyon would even slow them down.
The villagers immediately broke into panic. They knew fleeing would do them no good, as they were just too small. Leaving the walls would be suicide and attacking back would be equally useless, so they immediately dropped to their knees and began praying to their primitive gods, begging for help.
The help came immediately, seemingly from the heavens themselves – a gigantic foot, big enough to dwarf even the largest of the group of macros, descended from above the clouds pinning one of the macros under the colossal toes. A clawed hand soon followed and plucked the rather disgruntled giant from underneath the paw. The others continued to flee from the even bigger macro, running nearer and nearer the village.
A break in the clouds quickly confirmed one thing: whoever was chasing the group of macros that towered over their entire village was NOT their God. Breaking into an even larger panic, the tribal villages immediately started begging their gods once again, begging even harder for an answer. They knew if one of the smaller macros wanted to eat them, they were as good as food. If the even larger macro wanted to eat them, they had even less chance.
As if to answer their prayers Fang lurked hungrily on the horizon watching carefully, waiting for the right moment to pounce.
3… 2… 1…
*THOOM*
The ground shook violently as the skies darkened completely above all of them: micro, macros, and mega-macro alike, as Fang’s hungry face filled the entire sky, her hands cupped around them, smiling down greedily upon them all.
Having just gotten back to their feet from their prayers, the tribesmen all looked at one another, nodding in agreement as they all came to the same conclusion: They needed a better God.
A really fun picture drawn by Alef as part of an art trade. He did a wonderful job making Fang looking all kinds of big. A few of the smaller megamacros are in for a bit of a shock any time now!
