The two massive entrances to the now abandoned Hanson Quarry Company operation at Sinks (Mullins) Kentucky. This was a large underground quarry operation which supplied small stone and aggregate up until sometime around 2008 when it was abandoned. It has now become a teen hangout with numerous shell casings, campfire remains, and ATV tracks present.
In early 2014 this site was the scene of an attempted murder when a man was nearly beaten to death for $700 cash he had on his person in what appeared to be a drug deal gone bad. The assailant left the man under a pile of rocks just inside the quarry entrance to die but he was luckily saved by a group of ATV enthusiasts who happened to be in the area and heard the man groaning as they passed the site.
