And the The Thing reference wasn't meant to be critical...I figure that movie pasted itself broadly across a whole LOT of artistic subconsciouses. It's difficult to make a half-shredded critter with extra limbs and toothy maws where they shouldn't be without it being somehow reminiscent of either the spiderhead or the dogpack or...Yeah.
