Just something I decided to write one night when I was packing lunch for work. Nothing especially profound I think, but I figured it could be fun just posting this and seeing what happens.
At any rate, thank you for the view and have a fantastic day~

I always will have a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.
Even when I’m going to be far away from home. It’s always going to be there, whether on white, wheat, or even sour dough. Smooth or crunchy peanut butter smothered together against some delicious jelly. Any kind will do.
It’s kinda funny, thinking about it. When I was so much younger, I hated making my lunch. It was such a waste of time when I could be upstairs becoming the best there ever was. Throw in the cheetohs, apple slices, a water, and a cookie, that’s all easy.
But no, a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich takes time. Gotta grab the peanut butter out of the cupboard, get a paper towel, get a knife, a spoon, and then the jelly. And after all of that prep, you make the actual sandwich. And the best part, of course, is the clean up. So much time spent on a little meal I’d be enjoying for all of five minutes the following day.
Of course, I’ve never been great at making them. Couldn’t quite enjoy them as much as I wanted to. No, that’s what mom always could do. She always knew how to make the perfect PB&J, and I never could and still can’t figure out why. I’ve tried using so much jelly and less peanut butter, or more peanut butter and a little less jelly, and it never comes out the same.
Maybe it’s just something to think about. A big ol’ peanut butter and jelly sandwich takes time to make. You gotta actually have the stuff to make it first, and gather that all together. And then you actually get to make it. However you want. You could have apple jelly and chocolate peanut butter on gluten-free bread for crying out loud.
It’s so exciting to make my own Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich now that I’m thinking about it. It’s sure taken a lot of time grabbing everything, but now I have a general idea of what I want my sandwich to be; choke-cherry jelly with some smooth, rich peanut butter on white bread, crusts on, whole.
Ooh that gets me hungry just thinking about making the sandwich. Of course, I have to eat it tomorrow, so I gotta get my sandwich all prepped and whatnot. Then of course… Cleaning. As I mentioned. Not fun.
Whenever you make a mess, it’s only common courtesy that you pick up. It’s not fun, and really you feel pretty dirty while you’re wiping down sticky preserves and have to make sure you clean off all of the peanut butter on your fingers. But that’s just how it goes in the kitchen, with just about any dish; if you want to cook, the mess you must deal with. It’s tomorrow you get to reap and enjoy the delicious sandwich you made.
And now that I’m thinking about it again, I remember how my mom’s made her peanut butter and jelly. It seems so perfectly smooth and balanced, it’s incredible. And I really want to make my sandwich like hers, but I have a feeling I just don’t have that touch. She tells me that my sandwich’s are pretty good too, so I guess I have some hope.
However I decide to make my sandwich , I’m going to make it pretty soon. After all, I have a lot of places to go tomorrow, and I gotta make sure I have my lunch ready. To be honest, it’s going to be just me and my peanut butter and jelly sandwich, if nothing else, should I not sit with anyone. And to be perfectly clear, I’m more than happy with that. I can spend time thinking on how I made this sandwich, and how to make the next one even better.
At any rate, thank you for the view and have a fantastic day~
