This piece premiered first at the Eurofurence 21 art show.
Inspiration can be tough to come by sometimes, but this is a picture that I have had in mind for years now. It is actually based off a picture of a lion character from Black & White 2, in a kneeling pose.
I had tried rendering a tiger in a similiar fashion years before, but failed. Now with enough courage and experience I was finally able to pull this picture off, exactly the way I wanted.
I am really happy with the final result, even though drawing the fur texture was pretty painful towards the end.
Thanks so much to the person who bought this as a print! :3
Enjoy!

This really is something to be proud of, I know how rough it can be to stay inspired even after the results can be kind of disappointing sometimes. I'm hoping to do some work of tigers in various natural landscapes and this really makes me think of how I can do that. I'm glad you decided to work through the painful details because this is one pf my favorite pieces you've done
What I like most about the piece is the colour compostion. That yellow/orange tiger fur really pops out in front of the black and white background. It creates a real strong contrast, which also ties into the theme of the picture. A tiger isn't what your mind usually associates with a snowy landscape. (And btw, what I like a lot about that background how the trees and twigs are all in their right place.) There's a lot of tension in this picture, and not just because of the "Ready for combat" pose!
Seriously, a real eyecatcher this one! =)

Thank you so much for the kind words Kaoru! <3
I guess if I want, I can actually create something artistic instead of "just porn" :P But as I said during the con: I'm glad that in the furry fandom, every artist is unique and stands for themselves. So why I can pour dozens of hours into a picture like this, your work manages to make me smile and giggle (like with this: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/16610784/) with your humor and style, which I could never pull off. :3
So it was really great seeing you and I'm sad that I didn't have a chance to properly say goodbye. I hope to see you again at next years EF though!

Silly tiger! Your gallery has more to offer than "just porn"! >:D Well, in the end it all comes down to A) making the picture you want to see (as you said at your panel) and B) staying true to yourself, creating what you personally like and looking where your strengths are. If you're straying too far off your path and and make something that has very little to do with yourself, you just somewhat disconnect from it and don't give your full 100%. Or at least that's how I see it. Not that it's wrong to be pushed out of your comfort zone, heaven forbid! (Taking up a challenge is a good thing after all.) But when the theme isn't really aligning with the artist's sensibilites, the viewer will usually take note of it. So I personally see it as more important that the artist in question goes wherever the inspiration takes him. Since that is, in most cases, how the best art gets made. (And thanks, btw! :D But well... you know what? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17209173/ Point proved? :D )
Ergh. Yeah, sorry that it ended it a garbled "See ya tomorrow maybe!" kind of way. I meant to go back on Sunday at first... but slept almost the whole day through instead. lol I was just too finished by that point. Either way, there's always next year! :)

Man you really are amazing. Excellent piece here. My favorite is the detail in the trees. If I had to give criticism I probably say maybe a little more of fur on the arms legs and shoulder so that it gives the character a more rugged rough-looking look I guess. But you really don't need criticism because your artwork looks perfect. Hope life's treating you well.
I really like it. It's definitely going to be one of my all-time favourites. Not only because it clearly stands out from the rest of your works, (don't get me wrong here, I also like your more common drawings, your style is amazing and I admire you for it), but because it also shows that you're trying to challenge yourself from time to time. Sometimes you have to do something that you want or like to do and not what everyone else is expecting you to do, to get back on track.
Anyways, great work. Love it.
Really would've liked to write all of this in German, but was worried that some might be offended by it.

I doubt they would have been offended, but it's a nice gesture of you to type this in English as it enables more people to read your comment. :3
I can't say anything else besides: Thank you very much! This really means a lot to me and I feel honored that you value this picture so highly. It's definitely one of my favorite works as well, which is why I am gonna have a canvas print available at Eurofurence 23. It was my wish to showcase this to a larger audience, who might not expect these kind of pictures from me.
The work process of this was definitely a challenge, especially with the fur texture and the background. But whenever I manage to fulfill my own goals, I am always glad I did challenge myself. :3
Again, thank you! :3
